On my HS, which/how many connections do I need to detach in order to remove the playfield from the cabinet? Any practical advice, pictures or experience would be appreciated.

Follow the cables from the playfield to the back box. Unplug those.

Yeah, just follow all those large bundles of wires from the back of the playfield. There should be about 5-7 (?) connectors between there and the backbox.

Well, I disconnected 3 white connections and 1 black. I don't see where anything else is attached (hopefully).

I just did my taxi. About 10 connectors. No probs.

I know there is one small single wire that goes all the way to the top left circuit board in the backbox that you have to disconnect there. Also, a couple along the right side of the cabinet near the transformer. Just going from memory...

I need to take ny JD out as well. Are there main connections or do you disconnect from the boards in the head?

Head. Follow the wires from the underside rear of playfield and see where they go.

Is it a big deal to do? Are those the ones that are bundled together?

A lot of them. Pictures - notes - label them.

Yes.

Pretty easy to do. Just mark off each connection with tape and mark them A, B, C, etc so you know where each one goes afterwards.

Or mark them with J121 etc...

My bad. I was thinking of removing the head. A little more to disconnect there.

For those wondering about the HS. The 4 connections were all I needed to disconnect in order to remove playfield.

Be carefull because some of these connectors can be connected incorrectly. If you did not mark them, check that the wire colors are the same on both sides when connected together. If you miswire and power up it will blow up the MPU board!

Yep. I color coded each of the connector ends prior to removal.
