    Quoted from vicjw66:

Junior and senior year. Freshmen and sophomores had to hide in the trunk. My nephews were shocked when they heard that we were allowed off campus for lunch. Apparently the kids today have no freedom.

We were allowed on and off the campus at will. Some days we got there and stayed long enough to meet up with some buddies, and then we were gone for the day

    Slightly off topic but......

Pies are on sale until 3-5-18 at Polly's Pies! All American Pie Sale $6.99 and $7.99 for whole pies. Yummm!

On topic! We used to go to Polly's for their burger, fries, and slice of pie for a dollar special. Darn good breakfast too.

We also got to mess with the player piano and install the scrolls of our choice while we waited. After dinner we would go to the Toy City next door. Toy City is long gone though.

    Quoted from o-din:

    Indeed I do!
I worked at Carls and made them. They were called Frispos and started out as dried potato pellets that were dropped into a cylinder and water was added. Then they were squeezed thru the cutter and then dropped into the lard. Very good, very tasty! We also used them at Pup N Taco when I worked there.

RIP, Carl Karcher. I remember when his name was on each restaurant.....

I remember eating at Sambo’s as a kid. I actually thought they all turned to Denny’s. The one near me did.
