I would also highly encourage you to look for some resettable fuses in the 1 to 5 amp range. If you have something shorted out you can run through a pile of fuses before you find the short.

I have these resettable fuses set up with alligator clip leads. Just clip onto the fuse holder with the fuse removed for diagnostic work until you find the short. I just found them randomly on ebay and at garage sales over the years.

I have found them in 1, 1.5, 3, & 6 amp. I am sure they are not perfectly calibrated, but they beat having to go through a dozen fuzes to find a light socket that has shorted out or a bad coil.

No surprise the ones in Vid1900's post look much prettier compared to mine.

I will say that I like the leads on mine because sometimes it is hard to find room to even get the alligator clips onto the fuse holder on some pins. You might not always be able to find room to insert the ones directly soldered to the fuses.

But most of the time you could use the ones like in Vid's post and I should also make up a set of them. Because the trade off with my alligator clip method is there are a bunch of bare metal spots to short against.
