I am trying to hardwire my Diamond Select NCC 1701 D topper into my STTNG. It currently runs on 3 1.5v AA batteries, so it required 4.5V DC current.
The GI runs on +- 13V AC, so I obviously cannot tie into that. Where is the best spot to get the power from?
I don't even care about it being interactive, just straight power always on would be fine.
Thanks for the help.

thanks. Now if I could remember what size of resistor to use to drop the 0.5V....somewhere around 200 ohm?

Ok, did some testing. The 1701-D is pulling around 78mA when just lit and 80mA when the speach module is engaged.
I ordered this one from amazon

5V 5A. should work just fine, right? Intending to wire it into the main power switch, so it will be switched with the game.
Or should I make sure I am only putting 4.5V out?
