I picked up a WOZ and the spotlight on the house is out. Not realizing this is a 12V, I bought some standard 555 LEDs and they obviously failed. Trying to find some white 12V with a 555 base. Comet has them listed on their website but they are out of stock. Anybody have a good place to get them?

Thanks,

Steel some from the coin door for now

Just use a 906 flasher bulb -- they have the same base (T10). If you don't have them, you can easily find them for car applications. E.g.:

I looked there previously. The first one listed is in stock but I thought it was only for a 906 size. The others specifically 555 are out of stock. Will the 906 size fit in the 555 spotlight base?

Yes, all wedge base fit.

I recommend this:

With any bulb on Woz spotlights, you may need a dab of hot glue.

Thanks all for the help.

Natural White or Sunlight White in your opinion?

I prefer sunlight, personally.

Thank you../

I'd vote sunlight on WOZ as well.

Many on that page say: 555 (fits 906) base. Just so you know, a 555 base (which is wedge) is smaller than a 906 base (which is also a wedge, but slightly larger). A 555 bulb will fit in the (slightly larger) 906 base. A 906 bulb will not fit in the (slightly smaller) 555 base.

Also, since it can be confusing...generally speaking, anything marketed as a "flasher" for a pinball machine means it's 12v or 13v. Traditionally GI and inserts were 6.3v and flashers were 12/13v. Things are now a little more confusing since JJP uses 12v for the GI.

Further on this topic, has anybody come across 12 volt 555 rgb color change LEDs? I've been wondering what they'd look like in the coin slots of WOZ and want to try it?

#16 1 year ago

Comet has/had a 12v rgb #555.....12v Opmax in spots works very well.
