Ready to work on my haunted house and wanted to know where is the best place to buy connector pins.
I may not be calling them the right name but the pins that slide into the connector housing.
I want to use the original housing and would also like to know where to buy the tool to release the existing pin from the housing.
I saw the docent website but cannot order from there weband what size would be the correct pin? Thanks

Looks like Great plains is sold out couldn't find them on the site. At any rate, for the single sided connectors you need .156 crimp style (do not get trifucon.... the don't work on edge connectors). Get the correct gauged ones (18 or 22) - that way the insulation is gripped correctly (get some of each).

For the double sided connectors sometimes you need bifurcated ones - look at the ones in your connector shell if there is an empty area down the middle it's the bifurcated type. (I'm not sure of the reason these are used sometimes.... maybe the solid ones are 'too solid' when putting them on the edge connector?)

For the pin type connections you can get trifurcon, these offer greater mechanical connection (good for high vibration areas) like your pop bumper driver board connections. AFAIK they are rated the same current capacity though (I'd have thought they were higher since more mating surface, but apparently not).

Most of the connectors are the lower current ones. Don't get gold plated though, dissimilar metals aren't good in connectors. Look at digikey and mouser links from ForceFlow - also other pintailers sell them like marco etc. but sometimes they're pricey.

These are NLA, and the remaining stock when it's available is expensive.

    $2/each, for example: https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/08-03-0304

Only replace those if it's actually necessary.

He doesn't really sell much in the way of parts & components any more. Mostly just replacement boards now.
