I just picked up a Wipe Out missing a trough switch and Pinball Resource doesn't carry it. On both Wipe Out and Stargate it's marked Switch 34. It's a microswitch with a flat strip of metal bent into an arch.

Thanks!

One of the few times Marco has a Gottlieb part that Steve doesn't:

I take it back - it's on his Stargate page and he lists it for cheaper than Marco:

Is it the one viperrwk is referencing or another one? If you have a pic, I am sure I have one. I think I have had almost every system 3 out there at one time or another (I think I am the only System 3 fanboy out there). I know I have an extra populated SMB playfield right now I can pull it from if you need one...

I don't think I have ever seen that happen, LOL..

I spoke with Steve this morning so I'm sure he doesn't have it. It's a microswitch, and it looks kind of like this one from Marco. If I can't find an original this may even work, with an improvised bracket and some soldering. http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/5647-12693-19

There's a pretty good chance it's marked switch 34 on some of the other System 3 games too.

Ahhh gotcha.... I am sure I have one, PM me your address and I will throw one in the mail for you. I usually end up making my own switches when the originals aren't available.... Pretty easy to do with a couple of needlenose pliers...

I am assuming it is part number 26485?

http://www.flippers.com/catalog/product_info.php/micro-switch-p-1275?manufacturers_id=9&currency=USD&osCsid=169969a46889b313c4aabb31e396341f

If so, I am sure I have one.... I will have to look when I get home, but it shouldn't be an issue...

Thanks very much for the help! I don't know if I'm a System 3 fanboy but I have two now, which is more than most people.

Gottlieb part number is 25938. I'll get a picture when I get home. This looks like the right switch, but I would still need the bracket.

Sys3s used at least two different switches in the trough.

For example, SG (later Sys3) uses the following:

Trough - 25938 - http://www.marcospecialties.com/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=25938

Outhole - 26927 - http://www.marcospecialties.com/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=26927

SFII (earlier Sys3 - like Wipe Out):

Trough - 29346 - http://www.marcospecialties.com/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=29346
(the image you have above)

Outhole - 26927 (same as above)

(I've confirmed these part #'s from the manuals.)

I don't have a Wipe Out manual to confirm but it's probably the same as SFII. You could call Steve back - or email him - to confirm the part numbers.

I'm guessing the switch screws to the bracket. If you don't have it, (bottom of the cab?) you could potentially buy the outhole switch and use the bracket from that with the trough switch above. I'd have to go look at my SFII tear down photos to confirm whether or not you could get away with that.

Stunning to me that Steve doesn't have this and Marco does.

I pulled the 25938 part number from the Stargate manual, but I'm positive that's not the switch that's installed. The installed switch (29346) matches the outline on the bottom of the playfield, so I'm reasonably sure it's original. Even the connector is for the 29346 switch.

The outhole switch has a different body so I don't think I could use that bracket. This switch appears to have the same body so I think this bracket might work, but there's no guarantee.

Either way, Ralph seems to think he has one so I'm very grateful and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If Ralph is pulling from SMB, it should be the same since it's also an earlier Sys3.

You're right - the outhole bracket won't work. Here's a pic from my SFII teardown with what the bracket looks like.

I'm going to take this time to thank Gottlieb for screening the bottom of their playfields. I LOVE being able to look and see the part designator so clearly and easily.

That - and the connectors on the harness as well. But age and heat makes them fall off - usually there are a bunch of them in the bottom of the cab. And of course, this harness went into the dishwasher and lost whatever stickers were left on the connectors

As long as I have a couple of Gottlieb nerds here...

I didn't notice my driver board is missing Q33, a P-Channel Mosfet. I don't want to wait for an order for one part, so do you know of anywhere else this is used? I have a WPC Driver board and a Data East that I can borrow from, but it looks like maybe this was Gottlieb only.

Sorry I missed this earlier - I've not seen these P-Channel MOSFETs used in Williams, DE or Stern boards - only Gottlieb. Or unless someone has modded the lamp matrix drivers on a Williams Sys 3-7 driver board.

I ended up ordering a few things from Great Plains and my Pinball Resource order isn't here yet so it seems like I won't be waiting long. On Stargate, I was able to find what I believe are unused P-Channel Mosfets, but I don't have the Wipe Out manual yet so I won't move anything until I get that, and see if there are unused ones there too.

I also found out I seem to be able to check the N-Channel Mosfets in circuit on the driver board by measuring resistance. That makes troubleshooting a little faster.
