Troubleshooting display issues on a system 11b game (Earthshaker) and just found out that pin 5, 7 and 8 on U44 are shorted to ground (there is continuety between them and to ground).
These pins goes to SRC7, and further to 1J1 connector. So the corresponding pins on SRC7 and on 1J1 are naturally also shorted.
I suppose that the only way to verify for sure that the short is in U44 and not on SRC7 or 1J1, is to desolder U44 from the board and then check for continuety.

Am I right, or is there another way to verify where the short is?
