I've been following this thread for awhile, and until today I've been thinking we "deserve" an update. However, after stepping back and really thinking about this, I realize I've never even reached all the wizard modes. Therefore, why do I need an update? The cities were probably never intended to more than the minor call-outs you hear when starting a new song. The game has 5 multi-balls, which I would be surprised if many have actually reached without adjusting the default settings. And plenty of adjustments are there to make the game easier to progress through, if desired. Honestly, what "huge" code update do some of you envision? Maybe fix a couple bugs but even those are few and far between.

This thread is loud for sure, and likely making Stern think about how the game was developed, marketed, and enhanced. So why hasn't Stern released a code update within the past year for KISS? Well, GG pretty much said it - they don't see it worth the expense yet, simple. Does that hurt some peoples feelings, sure, but don't let that get in the way of playing and enjoying a "good" game.

Quoted from busa32927:

kiss code is great once u turn down the difficulty a lot. yep and it is still missing a lot though. they should change strategy and have the "A" team that spends time on perfecting the code and "B" team to do basic stuff coding.

Yep, if you adjust how many instruments get lit with the right ramp shot and if the lit instruments carry-over after a drain, it will definitely open up and make the wizard modes more attainable for your average player (with possibly more fun).

I play with default settings because most KISS games on location or in tournaments are utilizing the default settings. Rock City has been unattainable for me. And now looking to sell the game but not because of the code situation.

Do we all pick a number between 1 and 160 to see who is closest?

I'm excited to see the subtle adjustment to have lit instruments carry over ball to ball as the default. I had previously adjusted to this with the 1.28 code, as it created it bit more balance with the rest of the gameplay. Also, now only one grid completion is necessary to start the HOF multiball, I like that. Previously, on the default settings the wizard modes where incredibly challenging to achieve (which they should be). But I like the balance this provides. I may actually play this on-location now if the game has the new code.

Quoted from Pickle:

So how long are you or others willing to wait for a final update if there is even gonna be one

I had been thinking of selling my Kiss Pro, but the latest code update awakened in me the reason why I enjoy the game so much. Do I consider this the best game out there? No. But compared to my Metallica Pro LED, it shoots better and general just feels like a much better built machine. The latest code drop wasn't much, but the game progression is far more linear now. I regularly have games where I reach HOF and Kiss Army multiball. Having the lit instruments carry over ball to ball is such a subtle change but really has an impact on my enjoyment. No longer am I just trying to play Demon and Love Gun over and over to get high scores.

The current code is sufficient with it's game-play. Plenty of different strategies can be used to blow it up. But I do look forward to some of the bugs being cleaned up.

But I won't consider it 'waiting'... I'll be flippin'
