It doesn't make sense to me to tease it with no date, and not release it within a day of the tease. You know people have been waiting a long time for the update, it's a necessary one - and then go and tease it with no real information, and wait to release it? What exactly does that accomplish? It's one thing if it's a Star Trek update or something similar - get people excited there is one more update coming on a release that has completed code. But KISS is in a different category - it needs a code update. There's no point in teasing it - it's only going to upset people.

Actually that's part of the new code - you can optionally change your cab design.

What if Stern's continued "teasing" of an update for an extended period of time were done by other people/companies? Give some good examples. I'll start:

October 1st: Visit to the doctor. "Doctor, something's wrong, I have a pain in my chest ... You'll update me when the results come back? OK great!"
October 3rd: Doctor calls. "Just wanted to let you know the update with your test results is coming! But not yet!"
October 5th: Doctor sends a postcard with a picture of an operating table.
October 7th: Doctor calls. "The results are in! Update coming soon!"
October 10th: Doctor calls. "We're checking over the results of your test now - update is coming soon!"
October 15th: Doctor sends a postcard with a picture of a heart.
October 17th: Doctor calls, plays the song "Achy Breaky Heart", hangs up.

Doesn't it seem like the whole extremely late / pre-order and deliver 2 years later model seems to be seeping into all aspects of pinball? Now this code update is following the same trend - small teases and updates without much real information, delays delays delays, another carrot, delays delays delays, then when you think it's coming for sure ... delay.

Is there ANYONE on Planet Earth at this point that believes that constantly teasing code updates like this is a positive thing? Anyone? Get a version of code to where you want it, test it, certify it - THEN maybe tease it for a day or two. But for goodness sake, all this teasing for unfinished and untested code, pretending like finding bugs in new code is some sort of revelation that wasn't supposed to happen? It's just ridiculous.
