I don't buy that the cities were never intended to do anything- Rock City is the final wizard mode and has its own insert. With that said i really don't care that much if they are just pulled from the game. "As is" Kiss is a good game, with some setting tweaks i think its a great game, with a code update it could be a masterpiece. Regarding pricing- all the negative code talk killed additional production runs of Kiss. There will be limited supply of them on the secondary market which means they are going to hold their value well over time. My biggest wish is that Stern would just come out and tell us what their intentions are with the code. If its done- so be it.

Quoted from DrJoe:

Why not just set it to 5 balls per game instead of these changes? Close up the outlanes if you need to.

Because you're really not changing the ball time by making these changes - in some ways you're actually reducing it because the strategy changes. No longer is good score dependent on multi balls. You're rewarded heavily for completing songs, making shots around the playfield and forced to hit the dangerous scoop much more often. Until you've played a few games with these or similar settings its hard to understand how much more fun the game becomes while not increasing game length. The risk reward of trying to collect play field multipliers is a blast. On my own game i've set playfield multipliers to one song, Grid completions to two, instruments lit on 1 ramp.

Quoted from capguntrooper:

PLUG AND PLAY BABY! Have one on my Kiss LE as well

Thats a cool mod- did you do it yourself or is someone selling a kit?

Quoted from Trekkie1978:

I asked you one simple question: What strategy does KISS have? You couldn't answer it...thank you for finally proving my point.

Really?? Kiss has a ton of strategy in order to do well on it. Some may argue it has too much (like GOT). Any game you can earn shot multiplier on top of playfield multiplier requires huge risk reward shots and careful planning to maximize your score.

I don't know enough about BM66 to compare it to Kiss, but to say Kiss doesn't have strategy is a silly statement.

Quoted from FalconPunch:

Tron is Lonnie + lyman.
Hasn't lyman already worked in kiss?

I was my understanding that Lyman pinched hit for Stern on the last update when something with the original programmer went south. I believe he's responsible for Heavens on Fire Multiball. I could be totally wrong.

Quoted from Pickle:

Post a full pic of the yellow when you are done....looks cool with the yellow

I put yellow titans on my slings- looks good and really cuts down on the ball tracks. I've also put titan post rubbers on my AS. I'm not as pleased with those- they don't seem to be holding up too well or maybe it just that the posts on AS take a beating. Keeping my fingers crossed for a code update soon, but not holding my breath either.

Mark my words- code will be released on Wednesday to maximize the hype at Pinburgh. Ok, don't really mark my words i have zero inside information just some wishful thinking

The multipliers are awesome in this game. Change the settings to give a playfield multiplier after every song completion and the game is a total blast to play. It makes going for song completions the most important thing to do. The only reason i don't leave those settings on mine is that i host tournament and i like to have setting close to factory so that no players are surprised.

the game is very good- It's a players machine, tough shots, tough rules. my issue is that i'm disappointed knowing what the game could be with better code. If you want to make the game instantly more fun try changing playfield multipliers to lite after each song (instead of two songs). Unfortunately the lack of promised updates since the game was released killed its reputation. My LE is part of my permanent collection so i'm hoping it get some code love soon.

Pinburgh code drop like they did a few years ago? Keeping hope alive for both AS and Kiss. I have both of the games setup next to my Iron Maiden and they seem so shallow in comparison.

Keeping fingers crossed that Kiss will actually get the code update Stern keeps promising.

I'm finding the average scores have gone up (about double), but its harder to put up the monster scores. everything is more balanced than before (score, modes, shot importance, multiballs). Excellent update. only glitch i've noticed so far is on the game start quote "you wanted to the best" occasionally glitches and sounds choppy.
