I only got my LE this week, so can only imagine the frustration of the long wait many have had for code.
But..dang! This is such a fun game!
Frantic, challenging and totally addictive - I love it. (Loud)

Quoted from PinMonk:The answer is almost always...tomorrow...tomorrow...
...and tonight!
I understand frustration with the code update delays but some of it goes way overboard. It's led to Kiss getting a bad rep on Pinside which really isn't deserved in my book.
This is a great, fun, challenging machine already - and it's only going to get better.
My LE's stunning - I still play it most nights - and I've no intention of parting with it.
Well, after just over a year of trouble-free LE ownership, my Demon Lock has stopped working. It registers the lock but just spits the ball out of the head and then goes into ball search on Demon multiball.
Strangely, the first symptom seemed be the arrival of SDTMs, which never happened before.
Anyway, this can only be good news for the rest of you - as knowing my luck, the new code is bound to drop now!
Thanks for all the tips guys - apologies for derailing the code thread.
This will be my first maintenance mission so slightly nervous!
One last question: No balls are reaching the Demon trough, all just come straight back from mouth.
In your opinions does that make a VUK issue more likely than opto? Or vice-versa?
Quick update:
Did the initial opto tests, no probs.
Lifted playfield, couldn't see any leaf switch on VUK. Manual says it's a rollover?
Anyway - disconnected and reconnected a few of the opto connecters under there.
Result seems to be everything's good again!
Thanks vireland and all.
Now - about that code update...
Quoted from konjurer:If you could load a new set of code (not from Stern) on your KISS would you do it? Let's say someone could and would recode KISS and add a new rule set with more modes, more songs, new visuals, etc. New code releases would be common until polished and complete. What if it meant replacing the DMD with an LCD and some new hardware to interface with spike system? So let's say the total cost would be somewhere between $300-$600. And be completely reversible to original KISS. Would you be interested?
Yup!
So..anyone found any problems with this update yet?
Just had a few games and ball was failing to eject from Demon head. First time I've seen that.
Quoted from PinMonk:Sounds like an adjustment issue, unless it was during lovegun. That happens under specific circumstances and was a documented bug in 1.28. Maybe it's not fixed in 1.30. There are other bugs that weren't addressed.
Another 10 games and it seems fine now - maybe it does self-adjust as it goes!
Class machine - deserves more love.
(and more code)
Quoted from PinMonk:For KISS, the conclusion I came to as well. That shot is just designed way too tight.
Hey fellas, any chance one of you could provide an idiot’s guide to doing this? I have zero Mylar experience but am very tempted to remove the Cliffy from there.
Do you actually have Mylar inside the hole? Or just up to the edges?
How big an area do you cover?
PS: This game still frickin’ rocks! Criminally underrated. Suspect it’s about to get even better.
It still puzzles me that Demon multiball isn't God of Thunder. I mean, that (and I Love It Loud) was always Gene's biggest spotlight moment, with the levitating and blood-spitting.
I wonder what led them to go with Dr Love, of all songs, for that mode?
Yes, I should probably get out more.
Quoted from thundergod76:All the songs on Stern's KISS are the 2008 remakes from the Jigoku-Retsuden album. They never remade God of Thunder. Pretty sure that's why it doesn't appear in the machine.
Ah, that would explain it, licence limitations. Ah well, must give Pinball Browser a go once final code's in place.
Quoted from ahdelarge:Aerosmith code last month.....new KISS code this month???
Now we know they’re finally working on it, the longer they take the better as far as I’m concerned!
Quoted from Pinfactory2000:*if youre a big kiss fan. If not, its meh-tacular right now.
Hmm. Hard to be objective here because I grew up loving Kiss.
But these days I love pinball more - and this machine is already bordering on greatness.
It shoots so well, looks gorgeous and is challenging and great fun already. Could it use a little more depth? Hell, yeah!
And i’m guessing that’s coming very shortly..
Either way, she’s still not for sale
Ah man, this is great. Had a couple of goes and already feels like a whole new ballgame.
Just wish it wasn’t 2am here!
Oh go on then, one more game..
Paul’s got one in his living room too. Wonder if they’ve updated the code.
We know Jeffree Starr has an LE too (his Demon lock needs fixing) and Stern has No1.
I’m starting a register.
Quoted from PinMonk:If he REALLY wants to SEE Lovegun multiball, he needs that mod from Kimball's Pinballs that lights up the backboard when the ball levitates. I've called it one of the best mods ever (for any machine), and I mean it. It makes that feature really the star of the show.
Agreed - it’s awesome.
