Hello: Just acquired my 2nd EM yesterday, a nice example of Bank-A-Ball Gottlieb 1965 wedgehead. Mostly complete and playable and when I got it home, the female jones plugs were mounted to this bakelite board which was just dangling around the back of the backbox. Just wondering where this board should be mounted? I don't see any place in the backbox where this fits. Any advice/info is appreciated.

I'd say it's a dangling participle, according to my old English teacher, youngsters won't associate.

Mine dangles too....

Yup, my Flipper Pool dangles as well - seems kind of weird, but it's always been that way.

The games with the drop-down animation unit such as the two already mentioned, along with "King of Diamonds"/"Diamond Jack" and some others (I believe "Happy Clown" and other four players) have this outboard plate for the Jones connectors.
The reason for this is that there's simply not enough space on the lightbox insert for mounting the female connectors, due to all the required components.

Thanks for all the insight from everyone........like the dangling-participle one!! I'll mark this resolved and learn to live with the dangling!!

This. Both my Super Soccer and 300 are danglers.

I was thinking "Hmmm... 300, Super Soccer are mid-70's machines". Looked it up on IPDB and saw the backboxes - that's a big chunk of animation hardware, no wonder they're danglers!
