Gotcha I was doing some tweaking on my LiS the other day because I didn't like the way the balls loaded to the spinning disc magnet for condition red multiball and was in the middle of a multiball and I noticed one of the balls vanished. I looked all over and couldn't find it so I finally gave up and put another ball in the game. Then a couple of days later I was playing (single ball) and the ball disappeared under the fighter on the right side. I pulled the glass and sure enough the other ball was stuck under there also so I pulled the glass and see the only plastic to prevent the balls from getting behind the round yellow targets is broken in two places. It's a very flimsy plastic there I suspect quite a few of these get broken. I decided I was going to make a protector for this plastic but didn't want to do it by hand, it has three funky cutouts and a hole for a VUK. I took it to work to use our cnc panel cutter
So the first thing I have to do is open up the avcam software and measure out the plastic with the measuring probe.

After that I open it in easycad and clean it up and connect some lines I couldn't get well and I have a complete dfx file of my protector

Then I open it in avcam again to cut it.

And after a couple of minutes I have a cut protector

I made the thin areas a little thicker to make this piece a little stronger ( I made it out of .090 polycarbonate)

And a couple pics of it installed in the game.

I think it turned out pretty good and it even gets a little glow from the yellow bulbs I put behind the targets It sure is nice to have some of this technology available to us today. Makes making alot of these parts way easier. Mike

Nice work Mike! Wish i had access to cool stuff like that at work, well actually it's probably a good thing I don't, I would've been fired for making pinball parts all day instead of working. Lol

I hear you I'm always thinking of ways to use new equipment to make my pin parts.
