    Quoted from jsa:

I strongly encourage anyone here to donate to Clay and jump on pinballninja.com. His videos he posts there are the difference between learning troubleshooting the right way and wasting a lot of time.

    Wait...

You mean just 'replacing the board and calling it a day' is not the proper way to troubleshoot?!?!

I just want the guide on how to dim Bally 6803 displays so that they last longer. Still cannot find that info...

    Quoted from Grizlyrig:

I would be very interested,if someone were willing to send a copy.
    Mike

On page 2 of this thread, akumazemo listed all the guide links rehosted and those links are still valid.

The plan is to re-introduce the missing guides with new pictures and info. just right now i'm working with the Ann Arbor pinball museum getting ready for the 300 restored game pinball show May 13-15 http://www.vfwpinball.com . That is taking priority and a lot of time. After the show things should calm down and i'll get the system80 guide back up, and then follow with Bally -17/-35. The Williams/dataeast stuff will take the most time unfortunately.

I would like to made the ninja thing a freebie again too. but it just takes so much time to do the words, the photos, and the videos, it's hard to justify that position. There are almost 400 repair videos and nearly 900 repair logs at that site. it's quite a body of work.

That's pretty simple. On the power supply board, there is a trim pot to adjust display high voltage. Turn it down to the minimum that the displays still look good.

There is also a labled test point so you know the voltage you are setting it to. Factory is +190 volts.

Yes, The test point is under the plastic shield, and it's labeled TP2 190VDC.

The $20.00 is a bargain for all that info. Very helpful to me.

Indeed, the best bargain in pinball IMO. The knowledge that I have gained from the TOP videos, the old guides, and the Ninja blogs have saved me thousands in service calls to the local tech.

It's great to hear that more guides are on the way!

    Thanks, Clay!

I've donated 20 to clay for access to the ninja blog about a year ago, but forgot my login info and can't find the email with said info. Needless to say, I have been struggling with my repairs.

Any idea how to get the internal links to work using the downloaded files?

    Any update on the guides?

    #170 2 years ago

You can find them using Google for maybe 5 minutes.

I used to tell people where to get them, but no one ever said "thank you" as if they were entitled to the information, so I stopped that shit real quick. A little courtesy goes a long ways.

Use Google and you'll find them in 5 minutes. 15 minutes if you're really trying hard to not find them.

Thanks, I was actually wondering if there was any word on what Clay was doing with the guides. I like Pinwiki but learned when I started from Clays.

Luckily I printed out the ones I use a long time ago when they were on the net. So I can still use that but was hoping to see them published again.
