Hello all... im digging into a lost world and the MPU only flashes once. if someone could point me to clays guides or anywhere else that might could help me trouble shoot i would be thankful.

Another question..... will this pin boot up without a battery?

    #2 7 years ago

I found some on a torrent site but it would not let me open them for some reason. I am also looking to find them.

Thanks for the links. simply awesome!

    #7 7 years ago

Youre welcome. There is a TON of info on those links.

Thanks for the link Blackbeard great stuff indeed!

That piratebay site will eventually expire. At least past links from it have done so. I printed out all of Clay's guide and made a notebook, in case it disappears entirely off of the web.

    Excellent news!

Welcome Clay, you are no doubt the master pin wrench. Your guides have saved my ass countless times!

If this is true, I certainly can't blame him for lurking after all the s**t he had to put up with on RGP.

Come on in, Clay, the water's fine.

    #17 7 years ago

If you guys haven't bought Clay's DVDs too, you should. They are only like $6 a piece and are awesome. DVD 3 and DVD 4 are the ones that are relevant to DMD-era pins. One is a full restore on a blown out TZ, and the other is mostly a restore on an IJ and a few other pins mixed in. Lots of good stuff, and it really helps to watch him do it before trying it yourself. I repaired the Spider Hole damage on SS and was very happy with my work, after watching Clay do the same on a MB on DVD 4.

    #18 7 years ago

Why were his guides taken down in the first place? Is he planning on publishing something? I've read bits and pieces of his stuff, but would love to have it in printed form.

That, my friend, is a looooooooooong story.

    #20 7 years ago

Go look that question up on RGP. Long story short - they aren't coming back so long as those pirated links are being spread around. But we won't have the resource otherwise.

Buy the DVDs and support the PHOF, and maybe we can get them back where they belong one day.

Hello I'm new here and I know this topic is old but if someone who copied these files before the links were bogus and nothing more than advertising succubus, I would greatly appreciate it.
I am trying to bring life back to a 1971 bally 4 million bc em(German version) that had the 3 cabinet to insert plugs wiring fried as well as the cabinet to panel female plugs on the lower board fried and destroyed as well as 12" of wire leading to them. I have the schematic and while it shows the which wire color goes where on the connector it doesn't show where they came from or the connector itself in the schematic, their only a side note. So in my search for a wiring "diagram" I heard mention of this clay guide and as hoping to check it out but I don't think the link is valid anymore. Any help or a link to a wiring would be really appreciated about now. Thanks sorry for the long post.

Instead of posting a link to steal it, why don't you just PM clay or visit his pinball ninja site.

Where? I would love to. I'm not trying to rip off anyone I'm just trying to repair this machine.

    Still here.

I tried that and all I get when I try to download is them trying to reinstall "Downlite" program and if I touch anywhere else on the page it want to install something else and somebodies tool bar! I don't use sites like that much so I guess I'm just ignorant on where I should click.

Searched pinball ninja and pinballninja.com sends me to "wordpress" can I just a ad free link or at least a direct connect without another membership<blockquote cite="#947273"

excuse it might be helpful if you included an email address or web address with such a reply I've already stated I don't know where to go. Donation fine. To who, where! Something that doesn't tell me to go somewhere else. Come on bro give me a break already.

Judging by all the "Hotties" in the banner ads in that link, I'm wondering though if the odds of contracting a virus might be about the same as actually dating those "Ladies"?

First you need to install U-torrent (its free):

    http://www.utorrent.com

    Then go to this link:

    http://thepiratebay.sx

    and click "GET THIS TORRENT"

Once you have Utorrent, you can download Linux distros, the Bible, public domain movies, and millions of other completely legal torrent files:

I'm pretty sure I caught at least 1 or 5 viruses between that and the pirates. I hate when people do that S***.

Thanks I'll send him a message.

I've checked out pin repair and for some things it will help, but I need game specific for wiring. Are you saying that the information from Clays Guide is the same as on pinrepair.com?

Any torrents with virus are deleted from Pirate Bay, it's a close knit community.

Pirate Bay does not even allow porn torrents to be listed on it's site.

Those moral pirates, I tell ya.....

    I email him thanks.

Seriously-just email Clay, and if you PayPal him something like 10-20 bucks, he'll grant you access to all of his stuff, along with the Pinball Ninja, who's also great.
I actually had all of Clay's guides copied before he shut down his site, but for all the work he put into them, I felt like a schmuck not donating to his site.
Besides, I believe all of the money he gets goes towards something good(I can't remember for what at the moment).

    #44 6 years ago

The Pinball Ninja site is some good reading.
Well worth a donation and his repair guides allowed me to fix a lot of my own stuff.
    (Thank you Clay)

I wish the original repair guide were linked thru the ninja site. If it is I missed it.

BitComet. Magnet link. Done. If you seriously have an issue with misleading ads just use AdBlock.

    #47 6 years ago

I have it on disk and have a laptop that has my teardown pics and the guide that never goes online.
I won't copy the disk per Clay's request so don't ask.

    #48 6 years ago

I just looked, and Clay's guides are not on the PinballNinja blog.

So everyone can quit posting that piece of misinformation.

    #49 6 years ago

It can still be found in html format on the web.
