That is a tough question. No one place that I have found outside of California fits that description. When I retire, I plan to spend the summer months up in Alaska or somewhere similar.
If you are willing to put up with the BS, high costs and high taxes, the Central Coast area of California has nice weather all year round. I lived south of Santa Maria in 2006 and it was basically 50 for the low and 68 for the high on the average day year round. They also have great food and great wine there.

Yeah Asheville is high on my list. The whole area is beautiful and the people are friendly. I'd like to be in the hills outside town above 4000 feet for the best weather.
