Hello all.

UK only question ideally...though I guess I can buy from anywhere

My local hardware stores don't sell fuses which match my machines.

I need fuses for cirqus Voltaire and Twilight zone....

Also is there an online list for all the fuse types (so I know what to buy?).

And this message (see photo) came up on my machine....and now doesn't work haha

Also is there a modern alternative to fuses?
In the same way I swapped out the battery with lithium ion etc.

I just got a bunch in with my twisted quarter order, great prices. Come bye and play some pins and pick up some fuses. Warning hardware stores charge what a box costs just for one.

Pinball Heaven & Pinball Mania sell fuses, I think CV will use the 20mm type so make sure to get the right ones.

Do you know of an alternative to fuses ? As they're tricky to find and expensive to replace now...

Jumper a piece of wire. The fuse allows electricity to flow but gives the equipment a way to protect itself. Larger fuses and jumpers will damage your pin way beyond what a fuse costs. Safer alternative is to make a circuit breaker but not always applicable due to space and costs and skills.

Apart from Pinball Heaven and Pinball Mania, I've occasionally ordered via Amazon and even once picked some up at Maplin. No alternative I'm afraid.

Ok so thanks for help but im still confused. I don't know much about fuses.

The photos are from the manuals of the machines I need full sets of fuses for.

https://www.pinball.co.uk/product-category/spares-accessories/fuses/

Pinball heaven (as an example) sell 20mm and 32mm for all machines. Then you can choose the V = value.

Does value mean amps?

So 20/32mm is the length of the fuse. Slow blow is the type. And are all fuses have different values?

So From a visual inspection I need 12 x 20mm 250 v fuses for cirqus Voltaire.

And 24 x 32mm 250 v for twilight zone.

If this right. Or are there other fuses outside of a back box?

The schematics lists many other voltages and amps. What am I missing ? (beyond basic electrics 101 lol)

So I was supplied these images of a CV and a tz machine fuse needs.

But do they all need all these different fuse types or Is there a generic fuse for most ?

Or is everyone on each machine buying so many variants?

That message showing on your DMD may not actually be a fuse problem. It is a common issue.

Thanks for that advice.

I won't know until I have fuses though and I still need to understand fuses for when they go wrong .

Also a blown fuse seems simpler than the alternative haha

If you know about fuses or have a link guide Id love to learn...

With the exception of JJP, Stern & WPC all use 32mm slow blow (time delay) fuses. Pick the amps required, don't worry if they are 250V (they all are).
