I've been using bctrade on eBay - they have carbon steel and chromium chrome steel balls - very nice finish on both
ebay.com link: Four 1 1 16 Inch Mirror Finish Carbon Steel Replacement Pinball Machine Balls

Added over 7 years ago: Removing this recommendation due to other pinsider having rust issue on half of the balls and magnetized ball on carbon steel.

    #58 7 years ago
    Quoted from FlipperMagician:

Unfortunately I cannot recommend these. Bought a 25 pack of the carbon steel balls and 11 of them had rust spots, so garbage to me. On top of that, I put one of the good ones in Metallica to replace a chipped ball and 3 days later it was magnetized, caught in the coffin. So now I don't trust that any of them will be Carbon Steel balls and will have to use them in my games that don't have magnets, which is not what was needed.
With almost half of them rusted I decided to just call it a wash and move on, didn't contact them so can't say what their customer service is like. Gave the rusted ones to a coworker who is making monkey fist keychains out of them. I don't have any confidence in a company that would send out rusted and wrong type of pinballs in the first place.

Fair enough - thanks for the update. I have not had any issues but glad you shared your experience. I'll go back to the standard pinball exclusive vendors.

Anyone looking for the most insanely shiny balls they've ever seen.....
I just got my order in from The Ball Baron. Purchased from this listing: ebay.com link » Pinball Replacements G10 Mirror Finish 10 Ten 1 1 16 Premium Chrome Balls
I've purchased from PBL, Titan, Marco, etc. etc. and these are easily the shiniest balls I've ever gotten. They are rated as G10 so that isn't surprising. Titan's were the highest rated I've used prior and those are G16 (lower # = more shine). These are burn-your-eyeballs-off-shiny.
I don't know this Ball Baron guy but I can vouch for them. 10 for $1.39 ea shipped free and I got them in 2 days. Hope that helps anyone looking for shiny ones.

Nice ball if your games don't have magnets. He seems to only have chrome steel and no carbon steel ones for games with magnets.

    Quoted from zpinman370:

Can anyone in the Great White North (Canada for you yanks that don't know where that is lol) tell me where we can get carbon core balls as shipping in from the US&A is crazy expensive- cost as much to ship as it does to buy 50 balls

I've been using these. Shipping to Canada is decent. He sells differing quantities so search for his other carbon steel Pinball listings if you want more - also a better deal if you buy more. They are very shin you for carbon steel and though one guy said he's became magnetized mine never have.

    Bctrade via eBay = BCprecision

Did the price for 10 increase since yesterday?

    #133 6 years ago

And sold out. I got some to try in my Baywatch

    #140 6 years ago

If your going to use Chrome steel balls in games with magnets you will eventually have issues with magnetized balls. Just use carbon steel balls in games with magnets.

    #149 6 years ago
    Quoted from asoka05:

Can you please link to the product page on ball baron website? There are so many products there i got confused.
    Thanks!

I believe they are sold out of the super shiny chrome ones.

I'd like to see some closeup pics from those that have order some - out of the bag preferably.

    #174 6 years ago

Got my order of ten high shine chrome steel from Ballbaron - very nice finish.

    Quoted from libtech:

Heres a quick picture of the balls from BCTRADE very poor finish:

Did you reach out to BCtrade via eBay about the quality issue? I got carbon steel balls from BCtrade on eBay that were almost a perfect mirror finish.

    That is a BIIIIIGGGG ball

Quoted from mrgregb123:Some good news. Had a conversation with David (the Ball Baron) today. He's been working nonstop to procure a polishing mechanism that can match the shine and quality of the G10 balls he sold out of so quickly. He believes he's found it and will be sending some sample balls to myself and a few other pinballers who bought the G10s to get feedback on how they compare. He told me he personally cannot see any difference with the naked eye.
Sit tight, and I'll update you on how these turn out.

Got a sample today. Could not see a difference between these and the G10 chromium balls he sold out of.
I just got news that the sample ball that David sent out are Carbon steel - WOW - very impressive ball for games with magnets.

Added over 7 years ago: Not carbon steel ~ chromium steel

    #249 6 years ago

Quoted from Pimp77:Correct. No carbon yet. I'm waiting for them for my magnet games.

The website says chrome but I talked to BallBaron personally and the sample Ninja ball he sent is carbon steel. He needs to ramp up production before adding the stock to his website.

Added over 7 years ago: I guess they were chromium balls after all.

    #254 6 years ago

Quoted from Pimp77:Oh, cool. When will they be in stock?

He didn't say when they will be back in stock

Added over 7 years ago: They were chromium steel

Note: because I don’t see it in the description but theses can retain magnetism as opposed to carbon core balls. So if you have pinball machines with magnets these aren’t your best choice.

    #286 6 years ago
    Quoted from mrgregb123:

I use them in all of my machines including Dialed In, Metallica, and TAF....I have never had issues with magnetism. Some people report it as a major issue, but it's never come up in my games.

How many games have you played with them? I wouldn’t recommend a chrome ball to people with magnets in their machines.

    #292 6 years ago

    Blacksun

I use BC Trade for games with magnets. Very shiny when I ordered and you can order different quantities in bulk to save more $ on their other listings for carbon balls

    Quoted from bigd1979:

Been using the super shiny carbon pinballs from pinball wizard in my games . I have around 1k games on my dile with them and they still look great . They are the same as the ones pinball life use to sell but i switched bc they stopped selling them. Also if u buy 50 or more u get a great discount.

    Out of stock

    Quoted from jay:

Titan's are $1.20 for >49 and Ball Baron is $1.85 for >25. Total with shipping for 50 was $67.99. Ball Baron would have been $55 for 26 or $99.20 for the same 50, shipping included.

Where are you seeing $1.20 for >49 for shiny balls at Titan? I know Titan10 promo code gets 10% off.

    #349 6 years ago
    Quoted from cocomonkeh:

Nearly all my games have magnets (TZ, SWPre, TWD, GOTG, WCS94, NF with, Demo Man, AFM, JD without). I'm thinking of just going with the chromes and takin my chances. I want that free ball!

Good luck! + FYI JD and DM have a magnet

And he wrote that they do in his post

    Quoted from jboner1058:

I ordered some silverjets from Marco and put 10 games in on my nos phantom of the opera restoration. They are now pitted and scratched to the point where I can feel the pitting after ten games.

I’d bet another brand of ball would do the same. I’d check to see if something in the game itself is the result of that first (but I know that won’t be too easy)

If your putting in a game that doesn’t have magnets then Yes. If game has magnets stick with Carbon Steel and not the Chromium/chrome ones.

    #565 4 years ago
    Quoted from Royale-W-Cheese:

Going in ACDC Luci and JP2 LE. 10 balls total is only $15.00 ...wow...
Marco for 10 balls is $35.00......huge difference..
Would you mind telling me why it's more than double?

    Thanks for the help guys.

Because it’s Marco, nothing against them as they have a great selection of pinball products.
Now back to - do your two games have any magnets during gameplay?
I believe AC/DC does so those aren’t the type of balls you want in there.

I’ve used these. No complaints. I used the carbon steel ones, perfect.
