    Quoted from 85vett:

To bad Hercules flipper and bumper strength is so weak otherwise those would be perfect for that game (instead of the queue ball)

Funny you said that. Last night I was playing with that big ball and wondered how nobody has attempted to make an outsized version of a modern pinball machine. Like say, an easy one with no subways like High Speed, with everything scaled to match the larger ball. Would be pretty fun. Not sure if the electrical requirements would be insane. But I imagine the coils would be quite loud.

    #202 6 years ago
    Quoted from J85M:

Can anyone help me out with my earlier question, thanks.

I have no personal experience with tis vendor, but to answer your question, how long do balls stay shiny?

The answer depends on the cleanliness of your games, and any metal hacks...ball hitting metal when it shouldnt,
along with how many games are played.

    #203 6 years ago

So, compared to, say, Silver Jets, do these ultra shiny balls keep the shine longer?

    #204 6 years ago
    Quoted from Reality_Studio:

Long thread, is there is a consensus on which are the best ones to buy that are actually kept in stock?

Titan has a few thousand Super Shiny pinballs in stock

    #205 6 years ago
    Quoted from J85M:

    Those look pretty poor.
Does anyone have any photos of these http://www.thepinballwizard.net/index.php?p=product&id=849
How long do all these super shiny balls keep their shine?

The one on the left is brand new still, the one on the right is about 6 months old and probably has 700ish plays on it. This is out of my xmen and between the metal scoop and both magnets I think theyre holding up pretty well.

I machine buff those with Green Zam to almost new condition!

Depending on the balls and wear, I can usually get 3-4 times the usage, with a few minutes of work.

although, I dont think I could ever get a G10 grade.....

    #207 6 years ago

Some good news. Had a conversation with David (the Ball Baron) today. He's been working nonstop to procure a polishing mechanism that can match the shine and quality of the G10 balls he sold out of so quickly. He believes he's found it and will be sending some sample balls to myself and a few other pinballers who bought the G10s to get feedback on how they compare. He told me he personally cannot see any difference with the naked eye.

Sit tight, and I'll update you on how these turn out.

    Carbon ones?

    #209 6 years ago

You guys are so obsessed with your balls.

    #210 6 years ago
    Quoted from mrgregb123:

I've owned both Ball Baron and Titan. Baron's are shinier....in fact the shiniest pinball I have ever seen. But not by enough that it's a big deal.

The real point to be made here mrgregb123 is the awesomeness of the Baby Bjorn bib in the background of your picture. THAT thing is amazing. Dare I say, the G10 of bibs.

    #211 6 years ago

No, these are chrome. He's working on the carbon ones still, but demand has overwhelmingly been for the chrome balls so he has prioritized that.

    Quoted from zh2oson:

Dare I say, the G10 of bibs.

It is. My son can fit his entire meal in it. Which is better than it being on the chair and floor.

    #212 6 years ago

so is there a way to just buff them yourself?

    #213 6 years ago

Those G10's look amazing. I'll definitely be picking up some if he starts making an equivalent anailable.

However after a bad experience with chrome balls in WOZ (Silverjets) still wondering what are the best currently available standard balls? I'm guessing Titan's super shiney are also chrome?

Also, has anyone tried chrome balls in Aerosmith? With only the one magnet compared to WOZ's 5 I'm thinking it would be much less of an issue.

    #214 6 years ago
    Quoted from nighttaco:

so is there a way to just buff them yourself?

If G10, 1-10, is the scale, buffing, depending on motor, speed, wheel, polish, and original ball, one can get from a 9.0-9.5 at home
    from a source ball.

Commercial grade, with skill, gets a 10....one reason they have been hard to find.

If one isnt setup, or has practice holding a sphere to a wheel, its likely not worth it, as the ball flying off the wheel just once is one heck of a projectile!

    #215 6 years ago

Wonderful news for this that can use Chrome Steel. What is the best for Carbon Steel for those of us with lots of games with magnets?

    #216 6 years ago

It is. My son can fit his entire meal in it. Which is better than it being on the chair and floor.

My kid is a puker. This thing has been gold.

    #217 6 years ago

    Very disappointed.

It appeared I had missed the boat with posts saying the ball baron was sold out. When I went to his website, I found "High Polish Mirror Chrome Steel OEM Pinballs," so I thought he must still have some left. I ordered 25.

Based on the ooooo's and aaaaah's from everyone, maybe I didn't get the same thing? (They were about $1 each). These are full of specs and tiny scuffs. I can use them, but not what I was expecting. I thought these would be like the mirror finish I used to get from Pinball Life.

Pics below show the specs below the light reflection, but they're everywhere on every ball.

I ordered the super shiny ones from pinball wizard bc i have lots of games with magnets and they are carbon core. Received my order very quickly and they are very nice and shiney. Price was good also bc i ordered 50 which gave a 25 percent discount. Highly recommend since pinball life dont seem to have stock anymore of these.

    Unfortunately not the same thing.

What you must have bought are the G100-G200 balls.
    ebay.com link: itm

What you were hoping to get were G10 balls, which sold out when Pinside foamed up and did a run on them.

I didn't buy from him on ebay. I bought direct from his website. Looking back at his website, they do say G100-G200. I didn't know the G10's were the good ones. Bummer.

I saw "High Polish Mirror Chrome," and thought that was it.

I am using one of the new G10 balls in Volley and there is definitely more english and spin on the ball. It seems that the ball grips the rubbers better.

Toss a powerball in that Volley for some fast and fun pinball action! You will then see spin galore!

    Well, yeah, obviously.

You happy with these super shiny from pinball wizard?

I need 20 good quality carbon core balls for my magnet games.

    #229 6 years ago

Finally got around to opening my pkg of 10 g10 balls from ball baron.

Wow are they nice, I hope he finds a way to come up with more of these!

You using them in non magnetic games as well or are some of the other makes a bit better?

Trying to make a decision on what to buy in bulk to swap all my machines out at the same time.

    #232 6 years ago

I would imagine that if they are suitable on games with magnets, that non-magnetic games would have no problems either.

I figured, just wasn't sure if there were any other differences such as weight or density of the ball being carbon core that would be different than say a std steel ball.

Carbon steel balls are not nearly as shiny as chrome steel balls and tarnish more easily. I suggest only using carbon balls in games with magnets and take advantage of chrome's better look for games without them. I use chrome in all my games, even those with magnets, and haven't experienced problems. Your mileage may vary.

I bought some g10 balls from ball baron that are very nice. Just didn't have enough to cover all my machines so I'm looking for the next best thing. Only games with magnets are Rolling Stones LE and Aerosmith.

    #237 6 years ago

Ball Baron's top-flight balls will be back soon folks. Being made a different way but should have the same shine. Stay tuned.

    #238 6 years ago

Ball Baron sent me a bag of rusty balls. In his defense, he replaced them at no charge. Rust means polished steel, they were supposed to be chrome.

    #239 6 years ago

All pinballs can rust, that's why many vendors coat them with oil. I've had plenty of chrome balls with pits, rust, etc. from various vendors.

I need to order more balls for my MET, TWD,. Since they both have magnets, what's my the best option?

I think those are good balls but lately they always seem to be out of stock...

    #242 6 years ago

Received Titan G16 super shiney. Bought 50 , took a chance , and love the quality. Ever since "kens balls" back in the late 90's I've not remembered this nice a ball. The ones from bctrade on eBay used to be good, but last batch was not good at all. If Titan will produce this quality ongoing, I'll replace all my balls every year with these. Not worried about magnets, at least for now, games don't get played daily or even weekly like some folks here. So glad I found these, it's been a pain in the ass to find a decent price on a supurb ball, so the hunt for my replacement balls is over, finally.

Got a sample today. Could not see a difference between these and the G10 chromium balls he sold out of.
I just got news that the sample ball that David sent out are Carbon steel - WOW - very impressive ball for games with magnets.

The Ball Baron's website says the Ninja are Chrome not Carbon, is that incorrect or is there a Carbon Ninja that isn't on his site yet?

I just started offering some Mirror Carbon-Steel (not Chromium) balls on my website earlier this week as an add-on.

I just put them in my STLE; and so far they are working as I'd expect.
