    I'll say this:
to the best of my abilities, I'm going to do my best to continue supporting the good folks at Stern.

    Quoted from kporter946286:

Actually, What you want to do is Invest in Oil and Drilling for Nat. gas.
If all you care about is money, F the Environment and start buying up poor peoples land on large sites in PA, WV, NY, and the Upper Mid West. Preferably parcels of land over 40 acres.
Kind of like he gold rush. Obviously your about 5 years behind but you can still convince old or desperate people to permanently sign over their rights for ever staking YOUR claim on that land.

You really ought to stop dispensing "advice".
I don't care how long you've been in the banking industry; you have no more information or ability to see the future than any of the rest of us.
The best advice is to save from every pay check, and buy investments on a regular basis, averaging the cost over time.
Keep your overhead low, and if you don't have a budget, make one. At the beginning of each month, you should know where your money's going to go, instead of wondering where it went, at the end of each month.
    Spend less than you make.
    Enjoy life while you can.
Oh; and this one's pretty important in my opinion: beware of anyone who tells you they can predict the future.
Only half of them are ever right, and it's only luck when it happens.

    Quoted from kporter946286:

I see trends that the average JOE BLOW doesn't see. That is what I am paid to do.
I don't know what you do but If you work for the Maple Leafs and are a Scout, don't you think you would know more about Junior Hockey players than the average guy on the street?
So I disagree with your opinion that I have no insight.

If I worked for the Leafs as a talent scout, I'd lie and tell people that I was unemployed.

    Quoted from arcademojo:

Same thought here. I'm 48, have 10 years left on mortgage of first house (now renting) 25 years left on mortgage of house we live in.
Two daughters 10 and 15. I had more money to buy toys when I was single in my 20's/30's, not in my 40's. I can't buy in less I sell something first.

    So no pin #51?
    That SUCKS!
