Next game is a JT machine with a family theme.

Quoted from sammiesguys:It's incredibly complex,
Yeah it would be a tough theme to capture with so many characters and subplots going on at once. On the other hand there could be like 15 different LE versions...
How awesome would GOT be with a massive interactive dragon that eats the ball and spits it back out? Just sayin'.
WWE would be an unexpected twist. Definitely not something I would want. Hopefully they do some great marketing on the actual show. Maybe give away some machines to random people who buy the pay-per-views. I just delivered an NIB TWD to a rich lady in Florida who saw the game on the TV show. She never would have known about it if it was not on the show every week for the drawings.
Quoted from TOK:I don't know any wrestling fans with a $6000 car, let alone a spare 6 grand for a pinball machine.
Actually Wrestling fans have money. They regularly pay $100 for pay per view. Look at the people in the crowd sometime on WWE. Wrestling is obviously the sister sport to NASCAR. It is mostly the same fans. NASCAR fans have money.
Funny, I think Mustang is better than most of the themes discussed in this thread. I would not mind having one at some point. KISS on the other hand I would not allow in my house it is so ugly. I am hoping the Stern sticks to the Muppets instead of WWE and hopefully KISS is out completely.
Quoted from badbilly27:Breaking bad is next on my list - lol. I'm just into Homeland now.
Season 4 of Homeland was unbelievably good. Not that the first three were bad, its just that they kind of rebooted the format in season 4 and the writing was really phenomenal.
It will be interesting to see how people will accept this next game. I think there are a lot of closet fans among us.
Quoted from badbilly27:Heard Borg said that. Hmmm.... Then it's JT designing.
Personally, bad form for Steve & John, if true, that they requested a pass on it. I recall ~4 years ago when the pinball market wasn't going that great that some people were looking for a job. Now, allegedly snubbing titles. Just remember, the good times they don't last forever.
Ultimately the star designers should have some say in the games that get made and not just be yes-men. Steve and John know what will work and their veto could be a last line of defense against poor business choices. If KISS gets killed off completely it will be good for Stern in the end because it is a bad theme with a small niche market. They would have the same chance of selling me a KISS as they would an Oprah. 0.00%.
Quoted from badbilly27:I disagree. Steve & John design pins. Take a theme, any theme, and use physics, toys, magnets, and rules to make it come to life. A super designer (which I believe both are) should be able to take Oprah and make it into something interesting. Hell, Wheel of Fortune if rules were completed was interesting.
Congo was a terrible, terrible movie but that game design is very well done - so is LAH.
Should they have a voice in the creative selection of themes. Yes. But once Stern makes the theme decision (and the Kiss license has in fact been purchased) it's all hands on deck to make it best game possible. That's called teamwork.
And while you and some others may not like Kiss, I'm in on it if good. Metallica and TWD themes did nothing for me. Both games turned out good though. While I sat out those two, you and some others can sit this out one. Kiss will sell fine just like Metallica did. We can't love them all.
I'm saying they should be brought in on the decision to secure the license BEFORE it is made. Kiss is at best a year away (and would be Borg's by the way), so hopefully they will cancel it. I don't say that out of spite either. I would like to see you get a theme you like, but in the end I fully believe it would be a sales dud even if it is a great playing game.
Quoted from badbilly27:You Kiss haters should take a similar approach.
Problem is that I can live with the KISS music being meh. What I can't live with is the way they look. I hate that big hair and make up bull sh@t. I could never have a KISS pinball or KISS anything in my house. Period. I honestly would not take a KISS pinball for free even if it was the best playing game ever. It would be the visual equivalence of nails on a chalkboard just seeing it.
(Actually I will take a KISS pinball for free and just trade or sell it before it ever gets set up in my house. You get the idea though...)
Quoted from Shapeshifter:KISS seems most likely based up umpteen predictions!
Not likely at all in the next two releases. Maybe winter 2015 or early 2016 if it happens
Quoted from BillE:GOT or GOTG and I'm in.
GOTG will not be until after the second movie and right around the release of the third. That is the way it works...
GOT could be this summer after WWE.
Quoted from Goronic:While I don't doubt a Game of Thrones release, I was thinking that TWD was Sterns 'big' pin to compete with The Hobbit closing out the year and at Expo. Perhaps GoT will be used to compete with JJP #3?
I don't think Stern pays much attention to JJP. ITI.
