    Quoted from JamCat:

After Wonka being somewhat of a let down, I am cautiously optimistic about GnR. They left a ton of good things on the cutting room floor with Wonka and it was either to save money or it was because Lawlor just missed the mark and they never made it on the design board.
If Eric is doing GnR, then I still have some hope that it will be impressive. I am just spoiled by POTC and there is no going back for me. I am liking most of Stern’s latest releases though so that is keeping me occupied.

What was left on the cutting room floor with Wonka? Game is pretty jam packed even on a standard.

    Quoted from JamCat:

How about an actual brass Wonkavator that can receive the ball? A pipe ball lock? An eggdicator? Instead we got a spinning gobstopper, an LCD with a plastic “wonkavision” frame, and a “DIY project looking” wooden and plastic shelf with a wonkavator sticker on it. It’s obvious that margins were the number one consideration on this one.
However, even the rule set needed better structure. How about making each of the 5 golden tickets correspond with each kid and their individual encounters in the factory? Instead, each ticket is a hodgepodge of tasks that don’t flow at all and the kids were tied into one multiball like an afterthought. It just could have been so much more, if given the attention to detail that POTC had. It’s not a terrible machine as is, but not one I get excited about playing either.

Pipe ball lock would've been a cool feature. I suppose you could "ask" for all sorts of things, but I was suggesting that there isn't much room left on the playfield to add on top of what is already there.

I suppose I'm used to looking at Stern's offerings and, by comparison, Jersey Jack games have way more even on a standard.

I am excited to see GnR. Since Eric should be doing this pin, we will know if JJP is on the cost cutting train that we suspected after the Wonka release. We’ve seen what Eric can and wants to do in his designs, so if it comes up short, there is no one else to point at but greedy investors. I really hope they go back to cultivating the wow factor. I’m still loving my POTC more than anything else after my dream theme of Wonka being a letdown. I wish I could make it to TPF!

I honestly wonder how profitable they are. Wonka LE vs. Stern LE and tell me who is still giving you at least something for the money?

    Quoted from LTG:

More than that. I don't know where those are in the mix. If at all.
Last year everybody expected Toy Story at TPF - JJP showed WOZ Yellow Brick Road. Everybody expected Toy Story at MGC - JJP showed Willy Wonka : Where did that come from.
Things can change, like when they skipped a couple titles because they got the Hobbit license. So only JJP NJ knows what is going on and what will be next.
I read all the rumors here on Pinside like everyone else. But nothing is for certain until JJP announces it or shows it.
    LTG : )

I don’t think anyone was actually expecting Toy Story at MGC. Everyone was expecting Willy Wonka.

    Quoted from JY64:

JJP LE is open ended do you really think 5000 is a LE vs a 500 unit LE JJP CE is there LE idition with 250 units and a cost of $12,500

I think they shouldn’t call it an LE.

The point was that a JJP LE has a lot more than a Stern LE.

    Quoted from JY64:

My point is the fools who buy LE games want low number runs that said a JJP LE cost $12,500 now if you want to compair the JJP LE to a Stern Premium that's a different story

Stern LE is supposed to be their best model with the most bells and whistles. But you make a good point. They don’t really add much other than a number so I guess you could compare the Stern LE and premium to a JJP LE.

    Quoted from FalconDriver:

The question is will the NEXT GAME being GNR be just as like Wonka as far as features
which clearly is streamlined compared to WOZ and Pirates. Just seems this may be the new
norm for JJP moving forward. How many features can they possible put into a GNR anyhow?
    We shall see.

I’ve heard they’re not going to let games get as complicated as POTC again so I’m guessing it will not be. Hoping for the best but expecting it to be similar to Wonka.

Maybe we’ll get a set of dancing plastics like on the AC/DC Premium/LE!!!!!

    Quoted from Skyemont:

If Stern was making Guns N Roses would everyone change their minds about getting this title? Stern has only done 10 music pins. Jesus Christ!

Yes. I would change my mind.

    Quoted from PtownPin:

I'm hopeful since it was the same designer as POTC, which is clearly the best game to hit the pinball market in years

This is funny to me because there was so much hate for POTC until it became hard to get, which was right around the time that Wonka was released and they announced no more POTC are being produced. People saw the next title and wanted the previous more and POTC became a unicorn.

Anyone remember when they decided to remove the three spinning disc? People were cancelling their preorders over that shit!
