On date of reveal.
Quoted from all_pinball:I heard something about a potential POTC rerun.
I heard they were getting LTG : ) back too.
Don't believe anything you heard.
Godfather…
I mean, jjp could not be any more out of touch. Who is asking for this theme???
They do build them like I like them, but my love for jjp stops there…
I have tried all their games, the code is so uninspiring in all of their machines that I can’t fathom how would Godfather make a good playing machine. No humour, no good energy.
Just another limp theme with floppy flippers.
Meh.
And at ts4 price. Good luck!
GNR hype was short lived, I foresee the same here and worse.

I don't understand how they could afford it..... Brando was extremely expensive (at least when he was alive). I remember watching a documentary where he almost busted the Superman budget due to his salary, and he only showed up for a couple days and left. Same thing for Superman 2, they had to remove his footage because the rights were too high.
Maybe he's cheap now that he's dead?
If we're going to get a legend..... let's have a Paul Masson pinball machine........ the call-outs "MaaaaAaaaaa...... the frenncchhhh Cham-piiin" [multiball]
It would be so easy to get a voice-alike.....
Put a Champion Pub Orson in the middle of the PF delivering funny lines. You win if you finally get him to deliver his correct lines. It'd be a classic.
Alternatively, I'd take a MadTV pinball machine
Com'on JJP!!!
Quoted from LTG:It was a joke. In reference to companies having to make decisions.
LTG : )
Damn you man, use that sarcasm emoji next time! You got me!
If Godfather is launched, I can relate this pin to The Sopranos just based on Game theme. The theme did not appeal to me EVEN THOUGH I love The Sopranos series.
It was fun to play, but the theme did not draw me back to play more. Godfather is a great movie series, but damn those movies are LONG and actually boring to watch over again.
Just Godfather 1-2 can be over 7 hours in the extended version. Put that into a pinball machine.... Unless they make this machine R-rated.
Would they???
I don't really get the negativity for the theme. I like the theme itself and I'm looking forward to see what they can do with the Godfather license. I think it's way to early to dismiss the theme as a 'not suitable for a pinball' for we don't know how JJP will fit it into the gameplay.
I think Godfather‘s a great theme. As good as any other. First film is great (others not so much), but I like the book way better. It‘d be great to just use the book, save the licensing money and create something new. I don‘t need the film clips, I have the blu-ray box set. I know, I know, dream on…
I’m trying to think of the mechs and call outs. There’s a couple that come to mind, but I don’t see that many for a pinball machine.
Godfather is a terrible theme. If it's JJPs next game, it will be their last. The game will sink faster than a gangster wearing concrete shoes.

I bet you said that about TS4 too
Harry Potter has a godfather named Sirius. This theme would make more sense based on JJP history and family friendly tendencies.

A bit of a reach there, but that would be pretty epic.
I wonder what the license for a HP pin would cost?
Quoted from Vespula:I bet you said that about TS4 too
Man’s a fortune teller. Damned if I don’t agree. Cell phone, the pin, living dolls, the 4th sequel, pirates on a sunk ship, Al’s Garage band on steroids, and now Not-Pacino’s best, 1-3.
If it’s godfather, this will be the first jjp I’m not even remotely interested in, and that includes a list of titles that included dialed in.
I'm really hoping for Godfather myself. There is enough material for a game certainly but honestly, Scarface would have been the better choice IMO.
Just imagine the end of that movie, it would translate well into a wizard mode.
I hope it's not Godfather...Pirates re-run would make them a killing, but I don't think they can do widebodies anymore
Godfather is pretty much par for the course for Jersey Jack, just consistently odd theme choices. It's like they looked at the Stern era that brought us CSI, Sopranos, 24 and somehow the natural reaction of overwhelming uneasiness and revulsion didn't take hold. All because something has a following, doesn't mean a pin for it should exist.
Though bad theme choices hasn't sunk the company yet.
Imagine if this isn't titled Godfather, but instead Godfather 3.
Quoted from Vespula:Imagine if godfather is code name for Harry Potter.
Pinside isn’t ready for that.
Quoted from Vespula:Imagine if godfather is code name for Harry Potter.
man if it's specifically Prisoner of Azkaban (the most godfather-centric Harry Potter book/film) that'd be awesome
Quoted from Dreadreaper:Jack just posted a pic of him beside photos of woz, Wonka, and harry potter.
Yeah, but what does he have to blunt Stern at this moment? He's grasping at straws.
He could have done a true teaser and killed Stern's announcement today. Instead he's in front of a poster while Stern is making sales.
They'd OWN the whole pinball market for the year with a teaser poster for HP with JJP. People would simply stop buying anything else and wait for him.
If he has HP, he doesn't know how to use it.
If he has Godfather, he knows he's got nothing. Poor Jack.
More likely if he has an HP, it's the last Fantastic Beasts movie.... the movie no one watched before the series was canceled.
You can get the assets for that..... cheap.
Quoted from nogoodnames222:man if it's specifically Prisoner of Azkaban (the most godfather-centric Harry Potter book/film) that'd be awesome
Wasn’t Count Dracula in that movie? Kinda cool BSD reference
Quoted from Vespula:Imagine if godfather is code name for Harry Potter.
Sirius Black is Harry's godfather, so honestly it could work. Especially if he is a central character in the game.
Harry Potter could be an ok theme for a pin. I really enjoyed the books, but I did not particularly care for the movies. So if I had to see clips from the movies on the backglass screen this would be a negative point for me. I’m probably in the minority, though.
Harry Potter makes a lot more sense than Godfather given their usual family-friendly themes. I'm not into it myself but I can see a lot of kids liking it. Not sure about the older audience. For me, I'm much more interested in Galactic Tank Force than either Foo Fighters or Harry Potter.

Something for everybody What a wonderful world of pinball!
Personally I want The Godfather to be the next JJP, the problem is that I don’t have enough space, so…. just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in to think where I’m going to place my Godfather
Quoted from Rolls-Royce:Personally I want The Godfather to be the next
With Eric as designer. Me too.
I was already thinking what pin to trade or sell to get one. But them I remembered when Toy Story didn't pan out.
So I'll wait and see.
LTG : )
Quoted from Dreadreaper:Jack just posted a pic of him beside photos of woz, Wonka, and harry potter.
Where did he post this?
Our newest game will be revealed on Tuesday, March 7th at 12:00 noon EST! With games in boxes and ready to ship, it's going to be an amazing day.
Are you ready to join the family?
^^^^ There ya go guys!
Quoted from extraballingtmc:Anyone heard anything on pricing?
I fully expect pricing to be consistent with Toy Story.
Yeah I was hoping they would reconsider after poor ts sales and also the ever sinking resale on gnr and ts.
Quoted from flipperstick:Where did he post this?
On Facebook, in a reply to a post by Pinball Paparazzi. They posted a picture of Gary Stern standing in front of a wall with different band names on it (including Foo Fighters), Jack replied with the infamous photo of himself that kicked off the speculation frenzy.
I guess all bets are off now. Always thought JJP was a kiddie company only making kiddie themes. Glad to see them produce an adult theme (but Godfather, seriously?).
I hope they can survive this poor decision and pay closer attention to what the buying public want... no one asked for Godfather (and 80% of a recent poll stated they are not interested in buying).
Listen to the masses, this is what they want (and will pay handsomely for):
Back to the Future
Jaws
The Matrix
Evil Dead
Mad Max
The Goonies
Van Halen
The Muppets
Wednesday
The Last of Us (gaining heat but will soon be scorching hot)
...to name just a few.
