Here is some forum static.
First, I want to say that Coast2Coast is my favorite pinball podcast and I think Nate does a great job! I really am glad that he churns out so many episodes and seems to really love keeping the podcast going strong.
I just did some marathon listening to the podcast this week to catch up on episodes and it made me wonder if a time will come when he either becomes a little tired of pinball or creating so many episodes. Is the dude a machine or what? I am going to predict a slowdown around April 2017. So nearly two years from now. Here are some factors that could contribute to such a slowdown:
1. Baby Shivers? Kids change things. Not sure if this is in the plans, but could be a pinball killer. "Getting into bed with Theresa" one too many times.
2. Job Change? I think that some of his prolificness is because he is on the road a lot and it gives him something to do late at night away from home. Perhaps he switches to a job with less or no travel.
3. Pinball Drama. 99% of the pinball people I have met have been absolutely great. That being said, there seems to be quite a bit of drama in this hobby. Do people get sick of it and step away at times? YES.
4. Lack of new stuff. Love the recent pinball resurgence and new games, but are there really a lot of new games actually shipping? Eh. As Nate would say, "Making pinball machines is hard". There might be a bit less to talk about in the near future if some of these "pinball makers" who haven't shipped anything fold up. Can only bash Fish Tales for so long (please keep bashing away).
April 2017. Lets enjoy the frequent episodes while we can!
