A year ago I had five pins (CFTBL/TZ/FT/ToM/CV), now I have 17! Am I crazy?

I bought one 5 weeks ago and started looking for a second about 2 weeks ago. Too bad my wife won't let me buy another one until we get a bigger house. Women!

Absolutely. But it is the good kind of crazy. Welcome to the club.

Only when you are completely out of space or funds or both.

I'm happy...that means you can keep buying Warning Sticker sets

If you are going to have 500, eventually you have 5, 17, etc. etc.

Ain't pinball fun !

I just started a month or so ago, about to be up 5 already. I think 10 is my wifes limit however, if I want to stay married.

Why the hell would you want to do that ?

Space she takes up could be room for another pin or two.

Money spent on shoes and make up would buy machines and maintain them.

The list goes on.

Nah, not crazy! Trust Me! Now where did I put that envelope? How can I eat any soup without my envelope?

#17 9 years ago

some stop when they are out of space, others when they are out of money. I think a few might still buy after those two things are gone. Don't ask me how, i don't know.

I am fine with three. Actually haven't played them in weeks. Maybe i don't have enough??

A year or so ago I had 5 pins too. Now I have 2. I don't think I'm doing it right

To answer your question: Never. It's never enough. Which is why so many guys here are divorced.

#20 9 years ago

I'm "done" when it comes to the largest part of collecting. There are a few more I'll eventually pick up perhaps - but I'm not even thinking of buying or selling anything at this point.

Nope, you're ONE OF US!

I took the proactive approach. I got divorced before I got into pinball.

I bought my first in July 2014. I now have 4 and am looking at a possible 5th tonight.

Nope, but you are on the right track

3 ingredients needed to be a pinball collector:
Money
Space
The love for pinball

If you have all 3, you're stuck here. It will only grow until one of those items runs out...

Pff...I've still got room on the roof.

#26 9 years ago

Depends on your situation of course...but for me it's when I've filled every spot in my game room and garage.

If I start putting them in the kid's room/kitchen/etc, that should be a red flag for me personally.

Space for machines is a weird thing. I had room for two in my office space, so I figured two was my limit.

I started thinking about getting a third and found another space in the house (guest bedroom next to my office) I could easily put four. I moved everything in that room and there are now four machines.

If I remove the bed from the bed room, I could fit 4 more - plus i still have the original space outside of the room in the office which holds two.

Without getting too crazy, I have space for 10. But at first I thought I only had space for two. What happens when I buy machine number 11?

I guess it is like Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park.

'Space,.. uhh,.. finds a way."
