Or is it sold out already?

They go really quick like Taylor Swift tickets.

Oh sorry, not yet. I'm on email notice, so if it happened I missed it. Just checking TPF website says not available yet.

    The link
Is live now but says no rooms available. Wonder if they opened it early or if the code will start working at 9 am as promised?

The good thing about TPF is that, even if you miss out on the official hotel, the area is just saturated with other good places to stay with < 1 block walk to the venue. I've been at the Hilton Garden Inn the past 2 years which is fine but there is just something special about being able to just take the elevator up to the room instead of having to cross a couple of streets to get there.

    Tomorrow, 9am central

That's what they emailed everyone, and then yeah sure an hour before it's even supposed to open it's already sold out. Bullshit.

Just booked two rooms, so it's not sold out yet.

    #12 11 months ago

yep it just opened up a few minutes before they said it would... got my room!

I got in at 8:57. Looks sold out now.

Weird I had refreshed at 8:58 and was still saying wasn't available. Had a room in my cart at 9:00 and it wouldn't let me check out. Lame.

    Total shitshow

First time in 3 years I've managed to score an Embassy room. The email said it took 52 minutes to sell out last year... I don't think it took anywhere near that long last year, but perhaps it did take longer than this year. Glad I was pounding that refresh button for 10-15 minutes before the official onsale time!

    #17 11 months ago

Still, total bs: I feel like they never released the majority of the rooms. They announced sale would start at 9 a.m. I logged on at 8:50 and refreshed until then. Sold out? No way.

    #18 11 months ago

We were able to get ours about 5 min before official release. LaserCute was offered a room on her laptop that we took. I had everything up to the commit button on my phone at the same time but of course we only booked one room.

I called minutes after the block opened and the hotel was already completely sold out. Booked a room at the Hyatt House across the street. See everyone there for another fun weekend!

There has got to be a better way. Got on, got a room exactly at 9am but reservation didn’t go through because my credit card on my Hilton account expired and the system would not save the update.

Got booted from the system and got “no rooms available” when I logged on again about 9:03am.

    #21 11 months ago

I missed out too, and agree that it sucks. But what's the alternative? I'm not sure of a better way to do it.

I just booked at one of the nearby hotels and honestly, it's a shorter walk to the show floor.

This was going to be my first TPF. Signed on exactly at 9 and all rooms were sold out.

Oh well...this just frees up funds for me to attend Golden State Pinball Festival. Missed out the last couple of years.

I would not let the lack of a room at the Embassy keep you from going... other hotels are just as nice and as someone else pointed out, some of them are technically closer to the convention center than the Embassy is. The Hilton Garden Inn and Hyatt House are both excellent choices and a bit cheaper as well if you get the show rate.

If any of TPF organizers can confirm rooms sold out, that would be something: Hilton has no clue and the link and website just crashes entirely.

    They confirmed on FB.

The next door hotels are good too.

We've stayed at the Hilton Garden the past two years, and it really is faster to get to the exhibit area from there, even having to cross the street, compared to the rooms in the Embassy (and that isn't even factoring in potentially waiting on the elevators...). I've also found the parking to be much easier to deal with at the Garden.

    #28 11 months ago

We stayed at the Hyatt that's across the street. The hotel is a very short walk to the convention and is connected to a food court of a mall, so there are many places to eat nearby. Parking is super easy too.

Thanks, everyone. I may still go. We live close to Vegas and I always stay at the hotel/casino where the act I want to see is playing. I love that everything is an elevator ride away and it makes it easy, especially after a few adult beverages.

I get what you're saying. But I'm telling you honestly, from my many years of experience going to TPF and staying at probably every hotel around the venue and at the embassy, its actually easier to get to the show floor from (some of) the other hotels. I definitely would not let that effect your decision one way or another.

I like to do the exact same thing. Both in Vegas and at TPF. Last stayed at the Park MGM to take the wife to see Bruno Mars. Not my favorite casino but it was nice enough, expensive as hell though.

Booked my room at Drury Inn.

    #33 11 months ago

I agree that staying across the street is a quicker walk then it is from the convention floor to the elevators. My Wife and I have stayed at those hotels for several years and was great. However, it is not great when you wife has to drag you across the street in the middle of the night cause you got blacked out drunk partying at at the TPF hotel. I don't remember it but my wife said it was not fun.
