Just finished watching the documentary "Last Man on the Moon", the story of Gene Cernan. I am also a big fan of the DVD series "When we Left Earth" and have watched it end to end 4 times. A while back I bought an original stainless steel fuel filter that went to the 54,000 horsepower fuel pump that fed the Saturn V rocket (still had the sealed bag and a Rocketdyne sticker on it).

So I'm interested in the subject but do not own a space related pin.

What's your fav?
Why?

Super Nova.

It has a Uranus shot.

Black Hole...for the sometimes floaty and slow, but also sometimes chaotic and crazy fast gameplay, the lower playfield, the sounds (especially the different sounds in the lower playfield and also during multiball), the rotating disc behind the backglass (and infinity lights too!), the super difficult to achieve multiball and the mind bending experience of playing said multiball. Black Hole really is an awesome experience, so glad I finally got one in my collection!

Space Shuttle. Just an all around classic. Doesn't get old, fun multiball, saved pinball, cool NASA look, rippin spinner.

#6 6 years ago

Space Shuttle was my first pinball machine, and still the one I regret giving up more than any other.

#7 6 years ago

Orbitor 1. Like someone said on the review page, “It’s weird. I like weird.”

#8 6 years ago

Condition Green... enough said

#9 6 years ago

Space Station because it's the one I have.

#10 6 years ago

Space Station !

'You're looking good'

#11 6 years ago

Space shuttle because it’s a classic solid game.

#12 6 years ago

I vote Apollo 13. I also really like space station and lost in space.

#13 6 years ago

Have Space Station, Space Shuttle,Flight 2000, Meteor, Black Hole and space time(em) in my collection. love the space themes! But would have to say space shuttle for the win game never gets old!

Space Shuttle with a CPR PF is so damn solid.

#16 6 years ago

F2k crazy multiball requirements, and multiplier progression. Nice layout, a little somethn for everyone and unique ball walker unit.

#17 6 years ago

Stars!
Single ball arse-kicking good time!

No. Space Station is an Ousler pin. Not sure who did callouts, but doubt it was Ritchie.

#19 6 years ago

Define space exploration.
Define what is not space exploration.

Mof...

I'd add blackout for sure, TX sector not sure. Meteor... Pinbot?

You need to draw some strict lines and start the poll over when you have clearly defined boundaries.

Per ipdb.org:

"Notes: One of the first System 11B games, also works with a System 11A board.

Steve Ritchie provided the male voice heard during the game."

I cant say I've played all of the games polled, but I bought my space station in 1993, and still have it. best multiball game I have. Locking 2 balls in multiball is awesome, and great light and sound package. Color-changing (green ) GI playfield is a first and last for color-changing GI lighting in a game as best of my knowledge. Still fun and gets played frequently, might not be the best game out there, but fun and unique in its own way. And did i mention no inlanes?. " Condition Green ", love it!

Space Station is the one pin I have sellers remorse on. I really do miss it and would gladly get another one if I found one. Just a great integration of the theme.

Gotta go with George Molentin’s “Babes in Space!”
Damn the SS only poll!

Space Station due to light show on pf,condition green and the cycling station lights on back box. Also “#1 Pinball in All Worlds”. HM to Pinbot as a classic making your way through the solar system with the challenging skill shot and outlanes.

Sounds like I’ve been called back to my thread to answer a few questions. Sorry guys as I am at TPF and having a ball. I will let you all respond broadly on the topic but my intention was true/reality based space exploration themes. Games based on real events Thx all!

What about Count-Down? I haven't played one yet, but it's definitely my kinda game -- love those banks of drop targets. Awesome rocket on the playfield, a hallucinating (?) astronaut on the backglass, etc.

Tough to beat a Space Shuttle though.
