Jolt Cola?! If only for feeling kind of titillating when having one due to the urban legend of how much caffeine was in it.

    #102 2 years ago

    Coke Zero all the way!

    #103 2 years ago

Royal Crown NEHI cola and Orange Crush.

As a teen I drank pepsi over coke, but I've always cheered for the under, under dog...
    I.e.
    Rc
    Mr. Pibb
Lemon lime Slice (haven't had in years!)

    #110 2 years ago

Anybody have any "gotta have this soda with this food" feelings??

I'll throw a few odd ones out

Diet coke with a hunk of sharp chedder cheese.

    Mr Pibb and hard salami.

Dog and suds (glass bottle if you can find it) with a bbq and onion porkchop sandwich.

    Mt. Dew and snickers bar.

Sprite (in lieu of slice) and milk duds.

    Obvious coke (pepsi) and pizza.

Ok ok....go ahead and laugh at my list now! Other half laughs and says Im nuts whenever I try explaining it...

Ive become a specialty soda lover over the past couple years. Some of my favorites are Cheerwine, Lemmy, Reeds ginger beer, and Carusos sodas. I havent had Carusos before this year, but they make a limoncello, blood orange, mariscino cherry cola, and dark cream soda. Very different and well done. For anyone in northern ohio, Heinens carries all of these except for Lemmy (world market for that one)

    #112 2 years ago

Noticed a lot of folks are into the sugar only type sodas (Mexican Coke,Pepsi throwback, Dr.Pepper, etc.) it's the only type I've touched for the most part for several years with some exceptions (Sprite, Ginger Ales, Root beers) - no sugar only options for them yet. Am interested in getting a bottle machine someday; would be interested in opinions/suggestions on what to look for in one from people.

Funny you should ask. I originally had written this out but thought I was rambling...
REQUIREMENT: Mr. Pibb with popcorn, especially in the theater. Dr. Pepper if necessary.
    Jarritos Toronja with Mexican food
Dr. Browns Cream Soda with anything from a true, authentic delicatessen: pastrami or corned beef sandwiches
I like Pepsi alone, and Coke with Pizza
Mello Yello with Lance Cheese on Wheat crackers
also like Coke with Lance Toasty peanut butter crackers

Cotton Candy sounds interesting. Is it blue raspberry but sweeter then normal soda?

    #118 2 years ago

Maybe I missed it, but those who've been to Brazil know this is a great beverage:

Anybody in the PA, MD area remember the Sheetz brand soda of the 90s simply called "It" ? Cheapest soda pop around and it was good too.

Interesting. I see it says non alcoholic. Does it taste like a strong real ginger, ginger ale?
Or is it more like a beer taste?

Coke is still my all-time favorite.

See if your friend can find Faygo "Rock & Rye" - kind of like a Cherry soda or Dr Pepper + Cream Soda.

By far my favorite Faygo flavor! The 'Redpop' you have is another one of their classic varieties.

    Does anyone remember Sarasoda?

It had pink flamingos and green palm trees over a white label on the bottle and had 0.5% alcohol in it.
I felt so cool as a 10 year old drinking it back in the early 80's.

I can't find it online. Maybe it was a Canadian thing. It tasted like Tahiti treat.

    #131 2 years ago

    Pop = Diet mt. Dew

    Quoted from heatwave:

"Rock & Rye" - kind of like a Cherry soda or Dr Pepper + Cream Soda.

It's technically a "Cream Cola, which is says on the label but I would have never guessed. One of the only pops I actually miss drinking sugar for.

    Quoted from heatwave:

The place that we went to like the one you mentioned was called Towne Club.

I don't know if it was ever really gone but my local CVS has Towne Club in glass lately.

It is actually a non-alcoholic ginger beer. It is essentially ginger flavoured soda. Really yummy.

Does anyone still have Wink available in their area? If so, I may have to call on you to ship me a few bottles.

It used to be plentiful in Canada...discontinued in the late 90s. It was basically ginger ale with a dash of grapefruit/citrus--delicious stuff and a unique taste. Wink n' Gin was my go-to mixed drink.

Coke from Olive Garden. Don't know what they do differently, but there's is the best. Also, coke in the old fashioned glass bottles.

As for McDonalds coke, I've never liked it.

For me it's a Dew. I never leave home without my Mtn. Dew pop machine.

My nectar of the gods is Mountain Dew throwback.

Ice cold Coca Cola in a glass bottle in Mexico.

    Is it just me
or does it seem that years ago
soda pop had much more carbonation than it does today.
When i was a kid back in the early 60s
i was always burping up bubbles thru my nose.

I think we have a winner. Found this at my local liquor store. 7% alcohol. Tried the lime. Love that smell. Brings me back to 88 as a 10 year old hanging out at the pop shoppe and playing arcades all day.
