The GC score at Marvin's location game is about 250 Million. Extra Ball are set to 2 maximum.

Not fair. All the people should have it before the high score is crowned

#7 8 years ago

My best score is something between 200,000,000 and 250,000,000. Will find the screenshot with the exact on my computer when back home.

#8 8 years ago

I think I was 40 ish million or something, first day playing it on a friends game new out of box. I can see 100,000,000 as a score but it would take me a while to get there, need to know the rules better and just play better- I can believe score much higher but not within my ability to ever hit that.

Yes I agree I'm very picky about games and this(MMR) exceeded all my expectations thanks Rick,Doug,LTG,Stern,Brian Eddy and everyone else involved in this venture

#17 8 years ago

OK. It was 250MM. Here's the proof with the other achievements in this same epic game. My following high score is around 130MM.

My best is about 103 mil on location. I'm looking forward to spending even more time on it, what a terrific game.

What's the difference in normal and hard modes for MM?

#20 8 years ago

I put 68-69 Million on one of them at the TPF a year and a half ago, haven't played one since.

Why does the R matter with regards to score though?

Is 3 ball mode assumed in all score reports? And default settings?

This was on my friend's game (3-ball, factory default settings) about a month ago, but I'm sure he's beaten it by now.

Mine is 3 ball default. Man I just had another great game... 150-ish-mil & almost defeated King of Payne. All "blue" inserts collected except for Trolls (which is weird cuz that's usually the first one I get). SO CLOSE!

#28 8 years ago

I wa playing 4 ball and had a high of 214M but switched to 3 ball and only once got past 100M! Amazing what that extra ball can open up!

#29 8 years ago
Quoted from IndianaPwns:

Takes more shots to become the champion of anything so it is harder to rule the kingdom. To become Troll champion you basically have to start a multiball with trolls going and only focus on them to get enough.

#30 8 years ago

Hopefully get a chance to put a score up soon

Edit Feb 2016. Just broke 6 zeros

Quoted from paynemic:

My 250MM high score above is default settings except maybe the family mode (wish there was a way to only remove the who the fck are you quote!).
Didn't even know there's a 3 balls mode vs. 4 balls mode. Interesting.

I'm a bit surprised my score is the best yet (my 2nd and 3rd best scores on my MMr are 240MM and 147MM). I know my score is pretty good but would have been way higher if I hadn't choked on the Battle for the Kingdom. But I knew and saw a guy who once did over 2 billions (in the early 2000s; went through 2 battle for the kingdoms!). That game was the most epic pinball game I ever witnessed. He even maxed out the number of extra balls in reserve and lost and extra ball because of it! He would regularly go over 1 billion. I think he qualifies as one of the rare extreme MM players. Since we would often play MM together at the arcade, I learned a lot from him. In the days, I once reached one billion points: an achievement I never came close to reach again. All factory settings.

My current achievement goals for MMr are:
- beat the Battle for the Kingdom mode
- reach a billion

#32 8 years ago

Dang it. Missed all my extra ball chances. Coulda been a bftk

How many times do you have to hit the castle in bftk?!! I think I hit it a few times. Killed the trolls, etc, but no joy. Dang it. That's the closest I've ever come...

haven't got to play one that much yet but the other day i got to video mode for the first time. but my score was only like 50 something million

I still suck at video mode. I get it routinely but rarely claim even the extra ball!

Had a great game on Halloween morning! So close yet so far! lol Finally beaten BFTK too on my machine (first time since at least 15 years). Without any bombs so that must count for something; I was sure it was near impossible with the 2 trolls in the way.

Oh that's interesting. If you have troll bombs during BFTK, is that the only way to knock the trolls down? I remember a while back I had a great game on the ipad and was at BFTK and the trolls didn't seem to register when I hit them.

By the way, nice score.

#41 8 years ago

Yes. Only bombs do the trick during bftk

1 week later
#42 8 years ago

I like that troll bombs element in the game! The fact BFTK changes the game and requires bombs to destroy trolls adds some kind of an RPG strategy to the game. Sometimes, if getting one last hit at a troll can extend a madness multiball, you might want to spend a bomb. However, it's one bomb that won't be available later.

After a couple of weeks playing my MMR I'm left in a quandary about the outlanes being too difficult at default. I have posted about this previously and a couple of others agreed, but I just want to know what the high scorers here think so I know whether to persist.

First few days of playing I left them set at default in the middle of the slide and I found that about 95% of the time when I lost a ball it was down the outlanes not SDTM. Most pinballs I find have a more even spread between flipper loss and outlane loss.

I classify myself as a fairly good player, I can nudge to control the outlanes successfully on most pinballs I play with a reasonable success rate.
But MMR at default it's often straight down the side a clean run with no bounce even if I nudge as the ball gets to the outlane the gap is large enough for my nudge to miss and the ball drains at full speed without bouncing.
At default my high score was about 50mill but many low scores in between.

So I got frustrated with the outlanes and changed them to fully down (closed) which still allows the ball to go through clean but allows my nudging to stop it if timed well.

Immediately my scores improved after about 50 games with the outlanes adjusted my high is 190mill and I often get 50mill or more.

Problem is now I feel like I'm cheating I have completed most modes except Barnyard multi and King of Payne and I'm feeling like I don't want to do those with this easier setting.

So I put them back to default and now it's draining flat out again and I'm scoring crap, as soon as the ball gets out of my control and hits the slings it's straight down the side about half the time. (slings set at default power) I know I'm supposed to keep ball control and mostly I do, I can live catch most of the time from the left orbit and sometimes from the right orbit but that one is harder so I usually go for a bounce from that one.

Does everyone else experience an outlane drain at high speed with no chance of a nudge save about every second time a ball hits the slings?

Is that how the original played, I've played a couple of originals and I don't remember the outlanes being so harsh?

Does anyone know how the outlanes are set for PAPA comps?

Arrrrggggg...I'm driving myself mad, I hate feeling like I'm cheating.

#44 8 years ago

I just found the old thread about the outlanes here https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/mmr-did-you-tighten-up-out-lanes and after reading that I think I will persist with mine at default in the middle.

I'm going to reset my high scores and start again with default outlanes, I assume this just resets the scores and no other stats.

#45 8 years ago

Been playing a couple of days now with the outlanes at default and have decided that it's going to stay that way, I'm happy with it and I don't feel like I am cheating anymore

Did a high score reset but it keeps the Grand Champion score which is 190mill that I put up with the outlanes closed up to easy. My high score at default is now 85mill so it might take me ages to to beat 190mill legitimately so how do I reset the GC score?

Does MMR have a battery in the backbox to remove like older games and will that do the trick for me? I don't want to loose other stats though such as total games played etc etc is that info saved on an EPROM? and if so what would be the need of having a battery at all?

Edit: Just thought will the software update with the bug fixes and color DMD wipe the Grand Champion score when installed? if so I might just wait until then.

#46 8 years ago

Hope you don't mind me jumping in with an off subject question but your comment about he color DMD peaked my interest. I own MM LE R #359 and I was wondering if you had any information about the software update on the color DMD and bug fixes. Where, when and how much for the update. I have not been able to find much information about the color DMD software update on my own. Internet searches seem to only find YouTube videos from Chicago Gaming. Even Chicago Gaming website has no mention of the release date, price or even the fact that it exists. Any info would be helpful and once again sorry for changing the subject.

#48 8 years ago

Had a pretty fun game Friday night! Only a couple hits away from destroying the last castle but I buckled under pressure! I'm glad I had a couple friends witness it otherwise everyone would think I took the glass off!

For updates to the color DMD I think you should follow this thread http://www.planetarypinball.com/forum/index.php/topic,460.0.html but when it's released people will be talking about here on Pinside as well.

Some great scores there people I did a factory reset to clear my GC score and now I'm enjoying the work of trying to get over 100mill on default setting with default outlanes.

I have been one shot off starting BFTK and have not got the Banyard Multi yet, both those may take me awhile to complete, which is good.
