All the pictures inside posts appear washed out until you click on them, Is this supposed to be an improvement?

    #3 4 years ago

Not sure what you mean, they look fine to me.

I think they're compressed unless you click them now. Saving bandwidth? Testing...

Edit: I don't know, I swear I saw what OP was talking about too. Might've been a large image though. No big deal.

Look fine to me also - no washed out appearance

    #6 4 years ago

I am getting the washed out look on my PC but they are ok on my iPad and iPhone.

You only see the "problem" with Microsoft Edge/Explorer.

Switch to Firefox. Faster, more secure, no ads in Youtube, works with Pinside.

Agree. However, I'd also strongly recommend Chrome with the adblock extension. Also free, no ads anywhere, and most importantly, has a faster HTML 5 engine than Firefox. Chrome also scans downloads for viruses.

I have current Chrome with current Adblock Plus and it still sometimes has ads in Youtube.

    Not so with Firefox.

Would it be possibly to upload a screenshot of this? I'm not sure what you mean with "washed out"?

    #11 4 years ago

I get them on my work computer too, IE9. Not on my iPhone, so I cant upload screenshots, but it is as if the pic is almost white with a preview of what it is, and you have to click on it to actually see it in color. I assume it is a memory-saving/loading thing.

I can confirm it is happening on edge (win10). Interestingly enough, i'm seeing it on new items, but not items I've viewed before.

Once I hit refresh - it seems to go away.

btw: I have been using edge for some time, and this hasn't always been a problem... I'd venture a guess that this started 1.5 weeks ago or so.

2 images (#1 is screwed up, #2 is how it should look).

Looks like an alpha property that's only being respected by the Microsoft browser.

    #14 4 years ago

Yes, this is what is happening on my pc.

BREAKING: "Microsoft" and "respected" used together in the same sentence on the internet.

Sorry, I don't have access to Edge browser yet (I'm still shocked that Microsoft once again releases a browser that only runs on a single platform).

Can anyone with access to this browser find out more about what is going on by DOM inspecting one of the "washed out" images?

    #17 4 years ago

Robin, I fired up Edge to look for you and it's not doing it on my laptop. Sorry, I seem to be unable to reproduce it.

Wolfmarsh, Win8 or Win10? I'll try it on 10 and see what I get.

    #19 4 years ago

I think it is caused from IE 11.
    Microsoft have a issue.

    #20 4 years ago

It's a driver issue. Not doing it on this Windows 10 PC with Edge.

I saw it on Windows10 Edge.

I'll try to find a PC today with that combo.

    #22 4 years ago

Example from today, I had the mouse over the one photo that is not washed out.

I'm using internet explorer 11 on windows 10 and it's doing it.

10, but I see you couldn't replicate either.

I am running Windows 10 and have tested the following 4 browsers to see if I can duplicate the washed out photo issue:

    Chrome: Photos display properly
    Firefox: Photos display properly
    Edge: Photos display properly
IE 11: Photos are washed out.

As noted above the only browser that is not displaying photos properly with Windows 10 for me is the IE 11 browser.

I posted about this as well and also only found it in IE 11 in Windows 10.
    Using Chrome mostly now.

Mine seem to be showing up ok now.

    #30 4 years ago

    Confirmed.

Yes, I am using IE 11 also. My wife just checked it.

    #32 4 years ago

I'm running Win 8.1 IE 11 and getting the issue. As mentioned, refreshing the page seems to fix items on the page, but there's got to be a way to fix IE 11 (and I mean specific to this issue). If anyone discovers it I'd love to know.
What's strange is I'm not running 11.20 like Crash, but it says I'm up to date? I'm on 11.0.9600.18125

    Couldn't reproduce using Edge / Windows 10.
