Warm and sunny in So Cal. Like that's a surprise.

    #43 6 years ago

It's down to 71 now and dropping fast. Brrrrrr.

    #151 6 years ago

    I'll put it this way.

In So Cal, it won't be a good day to just sit inside and watch football.

    #154 6 years ago

Here come the torrential rains and included mudslides!

    I'll just leave this here.

So next Thursday you might need a hoody if you go outside. That's sad to see.

    Only at 3:00 AM.

    Well the weatherman didn't disappoint.

Avocado trees don't like record breaking 115 degree temperature like we had last weekend. Fortunately it didn't entirely kill them, but it did pretty much drop what was left of last years crop and laid waste to a lot of next years which was looking pretty good before it happened. It is what it is, you can't argue with mother nature.

We had a little rain last night but it has all cleared up and it is currently sunny at a comfortable 60 degrees. Looks like a decent weekend ahead.

    Quoted from LTG:

9 inch snow storm has started.

You must be getting a little of that precipitation the blew through here last night. They mentioned it would be moving across the country, but I had no idea how fast.

    #245 4 years ago

They didn't lie. Warm and sunny.

    #247 4 years ago
    Quoted from LTG:

You ? Or the weather ? Or both ?
    LTG : )

Both. It was cold last night, but I wanted to play in the garage so I found a way to stay warm. Now I gotta get my head together so I can reassemble Judge Dredd, my mission for the day.

I kept thinking how cool it would be to have some snow outside at least once like that picture you posted.

    #248 4 years ago

This guy probably wouldn't care too much for the snow though, one of the last orange trees in Orange County.

Another fine evening in Dodge. Feels about 55 as we near midnight.

Yeah, it's sitting around 80 degrees right now in the dead of winter.

7 PM on Feb 1. This should give you an idea what kind of day it's been.

I'm not sure how many more days of this I can take.

    47 and sunny.

    #354 3 months ago

And I thought it was cold here.

    #359 3 months ago

We're up to 63 and sunny now. Just did some sanding and paint prep on the eaves of the garage.

And yes, we're full too. But with all the people leaving, our governor has invited plenty of replacements.

    Quoted from LTG:

-9 tonight. No idea on windchill. It is very windy here now.

I guess you don't get to leave your windows open tonight?

This was the first week I didn't have my sliding door open where I sleep. Brrrrrr.

    Quoted from backinthegame:

    It's 9 in Beaverton

I heard the beavers in Beaverton were unusually warm.

    Quoted from littlecammi:

I'm so jealous of your weather, I had to resist the urge to downvote that post.

If it makes you feel any better, it looks like rain today.

But yeah, it's not that bad.

    #390 3 months ago
    Quoted from pinwiztom:

Just finished helping my mother sell a rental property of hers in Gilroy CA (Silicon valley bedroom community)
Bought it in 1973 for about $27K (built in 1963) around the corner from my child hood home.
3Bd2Ba 1315sqft with original kitchen and bathrooms,
(23 yr old roof in OK condition but needing some foundation repairs (earthquake country))
just closed escrow for $750K cash offer.
House next door identical floor plan but with updated kitchen and bathrooms went for $845K last year.

The fact I live in the house my grandma purchased in 1966 in north OC for $20k and is now worth a cool million somehow doesn't bother me.

    Quoted from Jamesays:

This was a great place to be in the 70s.

There were definitely way less people and rules back then. And it seems there were more places for locals to go and things to do.

But, the weather remains the same. As long as they don't mess with Prop 13 like some have been trying for decades, I'll probably stay.

    #394 3 months ago
    Quoted from poppapin:

The Mama's and Pappas song "California dreaming" is always fitting this time of year.

When they first opened Disney's California Adventure, they used to have that playing near the entrance along with a couple others and it was so cool.

But, like everything else they change or do now, it's long gone as is my desire to go there.

    #395 3 months ago

Not the original I used to hear there every time, but the place used to be kinda cool and reasonably priced. Used to be.

    #398 3 months ago

I heard Dallas was super cold today.

    #410 3 months ago
    Quoted from pinwiztom:

The property tax last year on the house my mom sold this week was $954/yr. The new owner will likely being paying $9540/yr

Yep. And the most important feature of Prop 13 is that it can only go up 2% max a year and that is a lot less on her $954 than what the new owner will pay. It's tough to let that go when you can still pass it down generation to generation.

That said, it looks like we are headed back up into the 70s this week so I can get some primer on the wood around the house I've been working on and perhaps even some paint.

    #416 3 months ago

Finished priming around the house and now I'm working on my tan.

    #418 3 months ago
    Quoted from LTG:

It's so cold here the hood rats have their pants pulled up over their asses.
    LTG : )

If it makes you feel better, I've got oil base primer on my arms and in my hair now.

    #420 3 months ago
    Quoted from LTG:

Yeah, but you go to wilder parties than I do.
    LTG : )

I heard you once had a Judge Dredd fall on you. And that is one heavy sumbitch.

    #425 3 months ago
    Quoted from LTG:

I caught it with my left arm.

Then you know how my right arm felt.

    #432 3 months ago

No painting today. It's sunny and we're going to Knott's. Nice to have a place like that open year round.

    #441 3 months ago

Yeah, it's sorta cold here now.

But they say we are not allowed to use our fireplace. Best to turn the TV off, then nobody told me.

    #445 3 months ago

The second livestream just about says it all. Can you say ghost town?

Nice day to mow the lawn and pick weeds. You people in freezing areas don't how lucky you are.

Yeah, we were well into the 80s yesterday and my corn is sprouting.

    #463 8 days ago

I am planting more corn tomorrow. Yellow this time since that is so hard to come by these days.

Boy, do we miss Arnold's corn shack.
