For the mid-70's, RoGo has my vote.

I'll vote "The Pin" at it's current price $2700.00

I would say Flying Aces, or Demolition Derby home model. Or Pachinko. Not because they don't have their own intrinsic value. I know many kids probably had hours of fun in the 70s because of them. It just seems when scouring craigslist and I come upon a pinball ad for $250 or less. I am hoping for a cheap em project but 95% of the time when I click on it's one of these. Doh!

hard body, seriously who the hell is buying a game with a theme like that? What location wanted a pin looking like that in it's establishment unless they are a female gym or a fetish shop? It's dumb because if they threw any other half assed theme onto it in that era it would have fulfilled it's goal of being "generic plain pin #432" which is what they were pumping out at the time. Genisis can go in this bucket too of generic plain pins that had a stupidly bad theme thrown on them.

Bally Big Show/Circus from 1973, stupid clown circus theme
and absolutely the most boring Playfield ever made.
I have seen home model pins more exciting to play.

Agreed! I have always thought the same thing about those two pins...Some may disagree but I would lump the "Raven" theme in that category...

    Caveman.
    Interesting experiment, spectacular failure.

My totally biaised other choice is Super Mario Bros, but that's mostly because of my deep, blind hate for the theme.

Big Ben is the one I always groaned whenever I saw it as a kid. That and SkyLab just always seemed weak to me. Yawn.

I agree about Big Ben, ugly to look at and ugly to play.
I have a soft spot for Skylab, as it was one of the pins
that i played in high school at the
    arcade/candy/newstand/comic shop, that i frequnted,
also i like the artwork and look of Skylab, (purple is my fav color).

I agree, the theme is horrible, but the game is quite fun.

    #38 11 years ago

    Agreed... The game is pointless.

    #39 11 years ago

    Pat Hand comes to mind.

    #40 11 years ago

Hahaha, yeah Pat Hand is a bummer. Agreed.

I actually really like Hardbody and Genesis (which is based on Metropolis from 1927, right?), so flame away...I think those are cool themes and fun to play.

How come no one is mentioning Gold Ball? What a pile!

I respectfully disagree, it's okay to have differing taste. Encouraged, even.

The worst is that Skylab is not that much different from Jubilee, another truly terrible pin...
