What's the best way to protect playfield magnet areas?

Looking to protect my METLE magnet areas. There are two that sit flush with the playfield (like IM) and one that drops into a hole (like TOTAN).

What is the best way to protect these areas? Mylar? On the hole, do you curl the mylar over the edges as much as possible?
