First time buyers are always looking for a DMD era game under 2000 and fail largely because they might not have access to enough games.

So what games do you think fall into this category?

I vote Breakshot

#2 6 years ago

I like Gladiators. Cheap but fun game. And maybe a couple DE games. They are good bang for your buck games in my opinion.

I rarely see Dmd games for under $2,000.

Probably Shaq attack. I think that is a little better than the other DMD under 2k, Big Hurt.

#5 6 years ago

Cueball Wizard.Just sold a nice one for $1,400

I had a lot of fun with Last Action Hero

As far as realistic answers go, both Maverick and Sharkey's Shootout are viable options. Both can easily be found for under $2,000, and neither one is a real dud.

I'm gonna punch the next motherf--- that says "YOU SHORE CUD EWS DAT RAMP SHAWT" square in the face.

Who the hell is selling LAH's under 2k, and how do I contact them? :p

#9 6 years ago

Baaaaaaaaaywatch! Awesome game crippled by wack theme.

LOL WHAT. You cant touch these at 2k or less around here...

#11 6 years ago

Let's not forget Party Zone! Cool pin for under $2k. Just make sure the ramps are presentable.

#12 6 years ago

Save $500 more and get a BSD or FT player.

This threads are always entertaining, if you find a DMD pin that isn't completely trashed for less than 2K buy it. This is not going to be an easy thing to find.

#14 6 years ago

This is getting to be a very short list these days. You are mostly limited to some of the least popular segas like space jam and the premier stuff. Frankly most of these games are pretty bad.

As others have said might want to up the budget to 2500 or so will open up a lot
More options.

Starship Troopers... but the list of DMDs under $2k is getting shorter all the time.

Not quite under $2k, but I bought one a few weeks ago through Pinside for $2100, which was its median sale price here at the time. That was his listed price as well...no haggling.
Great game. I love it so far.

#17 6 years ago

BEST... I would say Breakshot!

Possibly these if you can track em down for 2K these days:
Jackbot (probably stretching it here)
High Roller Casino
Sharky’s shootout
Baywatch
Waterworld
Frankenstein
Twister
Maverick
Starship Troopers
NBA FastBreak
Shaq Attack
Striker Extreme

Not really a fan of these but they are ok:
Cue Ball Wizard
Party Zone
Wipeout
Tee'd off
Checkpoint
Mario Andretti
Gladiators
SF II

Other stuff:
Slugfest
Strikes n' Spares

There are probably 20 some odd DMD pins your can buy for 2K or less but those are some of the better ones.

#19 6 years ago

Maverick, hands down... and youl 'll still have some money left over!

Baywatch getting tough to find under $2K

#21 6 years ago

No. I shot the center ramp 113 times in one game. Never again.

Set the game up right and you won’t be able to. Fun game.

#23 6 years ago

I got a Jurassic park for under 2k just recently. The listed price was 1800 on here I believe. Have to check for good prices frequently to get something like that.

I know of a LAH for well under 2000, condition reflects that though.

wait till the colorDMD comes out for Sega games and people are no longer concerned about the big old display death...

BW is still the most underrated game. It would be a superLE in todays world it is jammed with so much stuff.

Thats hard to find in Texas even at $2500. BSD is the next game on my list next to Judge Dredd

#26 6 years ago

Mario Andretti!!

That is probably the only Sega game i like

#28 6 years ago

I get the allure of the dmd, but with the short list of DMD titles under $2k nowadays and how many better Alphanumeric titles exist compared to that DMD list, I’d sacrifice the nice display and side with a better playing game (if you can’t bump the budget a bit).

#29 6 years ago

Not possible around here. Seems everybody wants 2k+. That IS the line around here, 2500 gets you into good games.

#30 6 years ago

Starship troopers
Lethal weapon 3
Waterworld
Independence day
South Park
LAH
Party zone

Still seems possible around here. It's not a list of 100 games but there are some undervalued, underrated DMD era games still under $2000.

#32 6 years ago

These are always stupid debates. Different parts of the country are less saturated than others, so your last action hero may cost $2500 where you are, but we buy them in the North East for 2k all day.

Last Pintastic New England show had a very nice party zone for 2k, Jp lost world for $1600, Jurassic park, 2k, 2 fish tales for 2k and 2100, very nice WPT for 2k...Frankenstein $1900...

Across the board, Maverick is the best game available everywhere currently under 2k, its an excellent game.

You could get the Getaway...oh..nope.

You could Johnny Mnemon.......nope.

Well, you could get X-Fil.......nope.

Maybe Jurassic....nope.

Well, you could get Terminator 2....nope...or 3...nope.

Remember the days these were $2000 and below? Love those increasing NIB prices affecting the used market.

For 2k or less, I would take a hard look at system 11s. There are a shit ton of system 11s that are a blast to play.....

Also, they have some great artwork

#35 6 years ago

Gladiators and Maverick
My two cents worth!

#36 6 years ago

Forgot all about Sharky’s Shootout. It’s a great game.

You can't really even get those for under 2k anymore.

#38 6 years ago

The ironic part about this thread is that it will increase the price of any DMD pins that WERE under $2k before this thread was started. They will now be over $2k due to high demand.

#39 6 years ago

Whatever, those games have all been priced this way for 10 years.

#40 6 years ago

I missed a LAH for 1700 this last week here in Florida . The guy was awesome, He got it for 1700 and sold it for that even though it may now be 2k or more.. Hats off to him and the guy who got it. I am sure he won't pass it along for 1700.
But it isn't any of my business or concern until I would like one to own myself , lol

#41 6 years ago

Sharkey's Shootout, High Roller Casino, Starship Troopers, Maverick. Maybe toss in some Gottliebs as well. Tough to find them under $2K now.

#42 6 years ago

Twister can still be had @ or under the $2000 mark & is a fun game if it is all working correctly

#43 6 years ago

Unfortunately not many dmd pins worth getting for under 2k anymore...at least in any type of decent condition. Now 2500-3500 u can get some really good games in good condition imo.

#44 6 years ago

What about a beat up Stargate?

#45 6 years ago

Can Stargate still be found for under $2000? I got mine a couple years ago for $1800, in pretty nice shape, and I gotta say I don't think you can go wrong at that price (Unless you can't stand games with little flow).

#46 6 years ago
Quoted from TecumsehPlissken:

I’ll take 2 at that price

#47 6 years ago

definitely LAH!!! Was my first pin. Cabinet is busted, but playfield is above average. Was my first and will most likely stay with me forever.
Totally underrated because of the scheme. But there is a crazy lot going on in this game.

2000 is correct if not working correctly. IMO

I got mine for 2100 about year ago (first pin), but they seem to have gone up a bit since then. I love mine. The call outs are amazing, and the game is really fun. Will never sell it. It's like that first girlffriend, you will always love her no matter what.

#50 6 years ago

you could get several about a year ago, now you cant get anything under 2k, or 3k !
