Looking for a Diner...possibly a Dr. Who. I'm in Alexandria, VA.
I listed an exceptional Star Shooter cocktail for sale. Looks better than the pics. Looks almost brand new. Don't like the price, make me an offer...

I'm pretty close to being able to buy my first pin! Looking to buy something in the $1500 range, only a couple paychecks away! Preferably a System 11, Diner is one specific game I'm really interested in. I'd want something working %100 but not necessarily pristine. I'm fine with some wear, and I'd actually prefer a game without LEDs so I can learn how to install them myself. Since I still can't quite afford it I'm not putting up a wanted ad, but I thought it would be a good idea to throw this out here anyways.
Diner is a great game. I posted up a WTB here several months ago and was able to find a nice one for a great price.
I'd suggest you post up a WTB and just include what you're willing to pay when you have the cash ready.

This used to be my favorite thread on Pinside...
Now it's stuffed with drama.
Come guys ... Let's get it back on track
Man, you said it.
Most of the additions are just pointless bickering and nonsense now.
Reminds me of a bunch of little girls being squirted with a garden hose.
I drove almost to WV to get one.
I figure it's gonna be a pain today, but tomorrow I'll have the machine...
I'm posting this for a friend (some of you may know Buffet the arcade monitor expert):
He is interested in creating a Virtua Pin. I think he has parts and/or empty tables to trade.
He wants to know things like:
* what operating system does he need for it
* what 2-3 different pin programs does he need to have on it for the most tables.
* what software is recommended to create custom tables
I know there's a lot of local folks who know a lot more about this than I do, so I offered to just post up and see if anyone can help him either a little (just send him a bit of information) or a lot (possibly work a deal to partner up with him and build 1 or more tables).
Please send him an email directly if you can help. He's looking to get started from the beginning and needs to know where to start.
His contact info is:
They had one at the Black Cat bar in DC last time I was there (several months ago), not sure if it is still there.
I'm on the hunt for a Doctor Who myself...it's been a tough search.
Quoted from PoMC:
What kind of work is needed on that Dr. Who?
It isn't at all clear.
He hasn't provided anything other a couple really poor pics. Who knows what all the "real" issues are, playfield wear, etc.
"could use some TLC"
"It has a few years of wear and tear that, unfortunately where I was storing the machine, went unaddressed"
"the little error dot appears on the dot matrix"
"one of the mini-playfield gray 'mushroom" target is broken"
He's mentioned "One pre-existing (prior to my ownership) modification is the top of the mini-playfield as seen in the picture below"
--> It looks like the time expander's entire top is missing and replaced with smoked plexi
I suspect it's a full-on beater, but without pics, hard to tell if it is just a partial beater.
I might have been interested, but I'm definitely not participating in someones craigslist auction.
He has also mentioned he does not have "expertise or funds to give this machine the TLC it needs", which is also scary.
Might have bad playfield wear, bad acid damage, etc, etc...way too much of a gamble, especially with no pics/expertise.
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:
Guess I didn't get the right email - I only got a pic of the Time Expander's uh... sunroof
Yeah that's what I got as well. I can see in that pic there is some fair damage in the time expander entrance area. Would be completely covered by a cliffy, but provides additional clues about the general condition.
I think $1500 was about right. I suspect someone's gonna overpay by about a grand.
I've been looking for a Skill Roll for quite a while!
Jeff is always taunting me with his...
Bally Skill Roll glass (factory second) available for local pick up.
If anyone wants my original/flaking Bally Skill Roll backglass, it's free for pickup in Alexandria, VA (22301).
Ity's better than some, but obviously far from perfect.
