CV FS in central PA for $6,000, firm. Detailed marketplace ad plus newly added gameplay video here:

On or by Monday, I'll be posting marketplace ads for the following machines for sale (no trades, cash only, pickup only) in central PA:

Transformers LE Combo (excellent condition, but minor backbox decal damage), $4,800
GnR (player's condition--cabinet and playfield damage, signs of connector/board heating), $3,600
Star Wars (Data East) (great playfield and boards, average cabinet), $2,750

All machines are 100% working. I'll need till Monday to get pix, walkthrough and gameplay videos, and fuller details, but if someone is really interested and wants to jump on one of these and make a trip this weekend, I'm available for you to come to State College and play the machines. I'll update this thread once the ads are posted.

Quoted from 2Kaulitz:

I played all 3 of them a couple weeks ago and all play good

Thanks, 2Kaulitz!

I have no interest in or knowledge of the seller, but here is a CL ad for an F-14 in Altoona, PA for $900. Looks like it might be a worthwhile deal for someone:

altoona.craigslist.org link

#4481 7 years ago
Quoted from GLSP3022:

Don't bother...I saw the machine. It's not the one in the pic. He pulled a pic off the Internet.
It has no beacons or parts for the beacons, pop bumper is out; most likely a transistor, no visible switch issue. It's very dirty, dinged up cabinet, and it froze up on me twice while playing. Incandescent bulbs with many out. I'd go $500 max on it, that's even questionable.

Thanks so much. I had no good reason to doubt the ad but it's great to know the truth behind it. Amazing. This one should have gone in the "More CL laughs" thread, I guess. Many thanks.

F-14 Tomcat FS in State College, PA. $1,400 firm. Ad here:

I have a friend in Williamsport, PA, with a working King of Diamonds EM that he wants to sell, and that's an EM title with a 2016 Mr. Pinball book value of $1,625. It certainly needs some work and a shop job, but it is working and could be a nice machine for a pinsider with EM experience. He's asking $1,000, but he will definitely negotiate price. I put out a few local feelers, but if nothing materializes I'll post it in the marketplace in a few days. Meanwhile, if you have any sincere interest, please PM me.

Quoted from brucipher:

I don't get why this person should be outed. I've had plenty of people initially say they were going to buy a machine from me and back out. I've always been in the mindset in this hobby that no sale is final until there is cash in hand, and I never get bent out of shape about it. Sure, it can be a bummer when a sale doesn't happen, but it's a reality. I don't think it is worth shaming people for backing out of a sale, especially in this case where the guy put down a deposit and forfeited it. Maybe I am just old-school in this mindset and the hobby has changed

I'm with brucipher, and I don't believe in out-ing a buyer who backed out. I always feel that buyers have the right to back out of a sale until the machine is in their vehicle. Another buyer comes along in time--usually another pinsider!

I have a friend near Hughesville, PA, who is going to be selling what looks to be a working 1963 United Caravelle's puck bowler. I'm probing for interest in the PA area and what anyone thinks a fair market value is. The thread is here:

Interesting trade idea. In the unlikely event that any Stern KISS owner is looking for an even trade and is near central Pennsylvania and willing to deliver for the swap, I'm interested in trading either my MBR LE (lightly routed at a pizza shop) or JP Premium (HOU, includes Tilt Topper) for a KISS. Any model of KISS is good as along as it's 100% working and has a Stern topper.

If interested, please PM me. I'll put an ad in the Marketplace if this doesn't pan out, but I thought I'd try the regional thread first.

You might try calling Melissa at Cointaker in Sunbury PA. Two weeks ago she had A TMNT Pro available. I passed on it. It might still be available.

They are closing up shop, aren't they? I'd imagine things are selling as fast as they always did

Following the coinopwarehouse facebook posts from the last month, here are relevant excerpts: "I'm slowing down after 40 years of buying and selling - the main building is sold and everything is being sold at auction . . . I will continue to buy and sell on a much smaller scale."

But seriously, at $3k you could get a quick turnaround. $3500 - $4k. Maybe eventually but it will sit for a while. Just my opinion though.

Agreed with the above price assessment, as an owner of the Spidey HP, Star Wars HP, and JP HP.

Torpedo Alley working project machine just posted in Market, including new full set of plastics and mountains (uninstalled) and a ton of used parts from a parted-out machine. Pretty much most everything needed to do a full restoration. $3,000 firm. No shipping. No trades.

Feel free to comment or PM me with questions.

Doctor Who just listed, with color DMD and LEDs. Recently shopped. $4,200 firm, with pickup in central PA 10 miles from State College.

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/for-sale-doctor-who-107#post-7623419

#16789 10 months ago
Quoted from Tophervette:

I lowered the price on my Doctor Who by 3% to $4850 if anyone is interested.

If not, I am taking it off the market. I will strip all the expensive mods off it for my new build. The moving Dalek will disappear, the ULF smooth MPF lifter kit, the colored light speaker display, the new ramps, etc.... the stripped down version will be a player for somebody that can't afford luxuries.

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/157212

Good price on a great game from an excellent pinsider. Buy with confidence.

#16792 10 months ago

Since I didn't get any immediate bites on my Torpedo Alley ad, I figured it might be overpriced. Price just dropped to $2,500.

Torpedo Alley sold and was picked up today. Buyer is an engineer who works on submarine propulsion systems, so it was nice to find a good match.

Getting ready to sell my partially restored Cyclone. I have a few pix, but I won't have time for proper pix and a walk-through video until this weekend. I will post an ad in Market this weekend if it doesn't sell first by way of this note. Either way, I will donate to pinside if it sells to a pinsider. $2,500 cash firm, and I absolutely will not ship nor entertain trades. Priority is in order of responses and the first to be willing to pick it up from my home near State College, PA. Easy loadout from garage, with no steps.

A few details, from memory. Plays perfectly and works 100%. Average PF with a clear mylar overlay. Average cabinet with average touchups. Original backglass with a few scuffs and scratches. I installed the following: new repro ramps, new white and yellow rubbers, new ferris wheel belt, new flipper assemblies, new legs and levelers, new full set of plastics, new flasher relay boards, all Cointaker non-ghosting LEDs (except for flashers, replaced by new incandescents), NVRAM, new wolffpac red display. Work done by others: upgraded capacitors installed on boards, one connector replaced on sound board, one burnt connector on interface board bypassed by way of soldered wires and shrink tubing. Includes spare plastics and original manuals with pull-out schematics.

Again, this is from memory, but I will give better detail and a walk-through video in an ad this weekend if needed. PM me if interested.

Following up on my own note above, I do have a bite on my Cyclone from a pinsider whose neighbor is interested and would be a first-timer buyer, so I'm giving the detais of that deal a bit of time to evolve. I will hold off on placing an ad based on the results of that possible sale. If it doesn't happen, I will place an ad including a walk-through video.

Hey man, aint no'body hustlin in the pinball bizz like Butch2099 . Man will drop off a new pin and pick up one you ain't feelin' in trade. Easy to deal with, but he goes threw sum pins. Checks out his stuff and send him a PM, he'll let you know if he's feel'in what you's offerin.

Seriously though. Bought/sold/traded with Butch 3 times now. 10/10 would recommend... especially if you are looking for someone to come to you.

+1. Butch2099 is a good guy. Buy with confidence.

Quoted from Lermods:

Facebook is terrible unless you know the person and I’d never do long distance on it. Never seen a site that has so many scammers. I’ve listed stuff on it and I immediately get 10 people who want my phone number or ask if it’s still available. Very inefficient way to sell.

I’ve found it much easier to sell here on Pinside. The fee doesn’t bother me, it helps keep Pinside going. For those concerned about the fee, just list on fbook first. If it doesn’t sell there, then list it here.

+1

Quoted from curban:

I’m on Pinside every day. The site is the best I’ve seen in any of the hobbies I participate. While I don’t know how it all happens, I can’t imagine that there is no effort or cost.

IMO, the annual member fees and selling fees arent unreasonable. Of course I’d rather it all be be ‘free’, but someone gotta pay the bills.

And…does anyone really believe that there aren’t a buncha pinsiders cheating the system with their pin sales and trades? Be upset at the cheaters instead of Pinside…if everyone was honest with their sales we wouldn’t have listing fees or ‘no sale posts without an ad’.
