I'm finishing up an Xenon. Here's a sneak peak at the playfield. Have Cpu and driver board work to do.

#1863 4 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

I just get back what I have in them basically and sell them for fair market value imo. Most these prices lately are crazy on here and there are many other places to sell and look for pins remember that..

Well put. I just sold 5 projects for the same price I paid for them back in 2006. I even through a big box of parts in for the guy that bought my 2 system 80's games. Seems like everyone is a weekend flipper these days. Buy game for $XXX tack on time spent and gas picking game up. Time spent repairing and shopping. Cost of parts then expected profit. And finally adjusted inflated value (after all you owned the game for two months it should have went up at least 10%)

I could drive 3 hours one way to get a game, Paid $450 shipping on a game. When I sell it. These cost have nothing to do with the game or it's price. I paid those fees for getting the game, enjoying the game.

You have any other 80's SS's for sale besides these two? I saw your "story" thread that's why I ask. Awesome stories by the way. Wish I was collecting back then.

I will have one or two Bally Silverball pins for sale shortly. Just brought two home from storage and need to dig the other one out yet. Might have a Stern Galaxy for sale soon but think I already have a buyer for that one. Just picked up another classic tonight. See my thread for details.

No it was the Creech at York when I first got it...the Allentown Creech was already shopped and sold. Looking to do the same to this one and this one is in nicer shape...

Was it this one from York? Had the wobbly leg.

IMG_1199.jpg

#2102 4 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

I was so afraid to play that one lol. Bunch if us finally gave it a whirl but it was pretty rough and not playing well or at least like it sld . I own one now and its been all redone and plays amazing .Thats the issue with shows , lots people get a bad feel from pins at show then never give that pin another chance . You definitely need to play pins that are nice and dialed in to give them a fair shot. .

Actually I did give it plenty of play. Had a few issues and the wobble but would love to see it shopped out and dialed in. I was almost considering making the guy an offer that day. Creech is on my top 5 list.

#2103 4 years ago

Nope, tried that before and couldn't let any go. So I am going to offer a bag of used screws from an EM Gotlieb playfield tear down. Only 10 bucks for the bag. Sorry no pictures it's a mystery bag. Shipping will be exact cost.

Per3per3 and i did this last year and it worked out great - his machine was in PRISTINE condition and he was gracious enough to take a well-played Monster Bash as a trade. We traded back a few months later when I started the restore. Would do it again in a heartbeat! both of us took a chance, not really knowing one another and we have become very good friends as a result.

I've never did a trade but do a 6 month loan with one of my friends. The deal is he lightly shops the game (cleans and wax playfield. Installs new rubbers) then plays it for 6 months. I pick it up and drop off a different game. I have complete trust in the guy so works out for both of us. We are on game number 3 soon to be game 4.

Quoted from knockerlover:

CQ? You bought these from Craigslist a few days ago, and you’ve been on pinside a few months..
The sNs was listed for 1k, and the firepower for $1200. There was a playboy too, for $1700 but you already pawned that off on some sucker who’s never owned pins before.

No different then half the other flippers here on Pinside. Wipe it down, throw new rubbers, balls and leg levelers and call it restored.
SNS looks nice but IMHO wouldn't call it CQ. Firepower also looks nice but looks like inserts are cupped pretty good.

Quoted from Lathroum:

You don't know me or what I do... Try again... Been collecting since the 1990s... Jerks like you guys are why I never dealt on here before... I go back to the rec.games.pinball days... Come see the pins in person... Don't like it then don't buy it... What is not collector quality on the Strikes and Spares? The almost perfect playfield... The mint back glass... The beautiful cab... Grow up...

Um, Most of us on here have been collecting since the 90's and have been in the RGP forums long before Pinside was around. Nothing special to brag about. The reason most fly by night flippers don't deal with Pinside is because most of us know as much about pinball as what they do. And will call them out. Simple as that. Nothing wrong with flipping games. We've all done it. Your just getting a little bent out of shape because people are disagreeing with what you call CQ.

#10123 1 year ago
Quoted from Lathroum:

Collectors Quality does not mean mint...

Could have sworn it does mean mint to near perfect. Can't believe I've been wrong my whole life.....

Quoted from Lathroum:

the games are 40yr old survivors... not repainted... not replacement playfields... no repro backglass... get over it and grow up... come play it, make and offer, or shut up...

Um, how about "very nice original condition."

Reminds me of this thread.

Hello, I'm new to this hobby, so trying to get my bearings. I've had an old Big Guns machine for years that I recently got working again after some soldering and part replacements and help from this forum. I've been enjoying fixing and tweaking and was looking to take on a larger project.
Does anyone have any 80's era solid state machines for sale in the Harrisburg, PA area?

wixziu I have a few. But wouldn't call them large projects.
My Sinbad is listed here. It's actually at my buddies house in York,

Buck Rogers, $975
Repined connectors, playfield just torn down and shopped. Ground mods done. Transformer fuses added. Displays rejuvenated and bright. Nice cab and minor flaking on backglass. Backglass was just sealed with triple thick. Plays great.
Cons: some wear on playfield. A cracked plastic and sound board only plays one sound for everything. Can deliver to Pinfest.

I was once swindled by a guy in Charlestown, WV. I bought a Ms. Pacman cabinet from him. He gave me a box with what I assumed was all the hardware he had taken off of the cabinet. When I started to work on it, I discovered that all the hardware, including the coin box and coin mechs was missing. Interestingly, within a few days of my discovery, this shady character put an ad in this very thread selling “four coin mechs unknown”..

So, what was in the box? Dirty underwear?

I have a Golden Tee Fore complete I am looking to do a Mame conversion on unless someone wants to help me move it and trade for a better/larger shell with a less desirable game in it. If interested in a trade let me know.
If I do convert this exact cab, I will have the guts for a Golden Tee Fore available for sale cheap (minus the trackball) but including the marquee topper. If you have an older Golden Tee, Bags, or Silver Bowler you wanted to convert this would be a good way to do it.

My buddy has GT Fore built into a X-men/TMNT/Simpsons cab and wants the real GT cab. Would be a perfect trade but his is down a flight of steps so that's a killer.

I know this is the FS thread for this area but seems like the best place to post my question. If inappropriate a mod can delete or I will remove.
Anyone relatively local to Richmond, VA that has experience have any interest in redoing a cabinet?
I have a WH20 that has new PF, ramps, boulders etc but the cabinet kinda sucks (not horrific) but could use fixing up and new decals. This is completely out of abilities and would like to see if anyone would be interested in the job.
TIA

Quoted from lurch:

I will further this question.... Anyone in the area actually make cabinets? I need one for a Whirlwind.

You can get complete cabs at Virtuapin. Also I beleive they will deliver to the Allentown show. Make a trip up to the show and pick up a brand new cab.
