Hi, I'm looking at a playfield for sale in Maryland and was wondering if anyone has experience with the seller. www.coinopdoc.com They have a bunch of pins for sale as well as a Capt. Fantastic unpopulated playfield i need. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll also vouch for Tom. I've been to his shop - he's only 15 minutes from me. I went there when I was first looking to buy a pin. I've never used him for repairs because I wanted to learn how to do it myself. But he's very knowledgeable and a straight shooter. The Pioneer on his site is one that I sold him. Very easy transaction. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him.

Does anyone in MD/DC/PA have a source for standard pinball glass? I've been calling glass shops in Baltimore and DC and the cheapest I've found is Baltimore Glass Company and they want $99.90 for one sheet. (Back in June the price was $64, but inflation has taken a toll.) Everywhere else is over $100.

Pinball life has it for $30 for pickup; $60 if shipped. But shipping is another $40, so total cost is still over $100 a sheet.

Quoted from billsgto:

I get my glass from Holland Computers during their sales, free shipping if you spend a certain amount. Now through December 4th CYBERMONDAY2022 coupon code for 15% off. $54.81 standard glass, $96.64 Standard two pack, $59.99 widebody glass.

billsgto - thanks for the suggestion and the cybermonday coupon code! I went ahead and ordered a two-pack from them. Shipping (Fedex home) was $48.31, but with the 15% discount, it brought me down to $65/glass, right around what I was going to pay to Baltimore Glass Company before they raised their prices.

Still wish I could have found a local place and saved the shipping, but not a bad price in the end.

FYI - you have to order over $1500 to get free shipping.

Does anyone know of a shop/person in the Baltimore-Washington-Philadelphia area who re-chromes things like coin doors, lockdown bars, siderails, etc.? I'm going to restore the cabinet of my Gottlieb Abra Ca Dabra and would like to use newer-looking parts with the new cabinet.

Thought about going for new parts, but Pinball Resource is out of coin doors and doesn't have lockdown bars or siderails. (Coin doors will eventually come back in stock, but not the lockdown bars or siderails.)

Pinhead52 recommended a guy in Fort Worth, Texas. Al's Plating. I spoke to the owner and he's done a lot of pinball parts. But shipping the parts back and forth is gonna add up. Would like to find someone local who has experience with pinball parts.

A local place that does Powder Coating of car (and pinball) stuff in Baltimore is referenced in this thread. Not sure on chrome but it is a place to start.

Thanks! And they are right up the street from me. I'll give them a call and see if they can do chrome and re-graining stainless steel.

I spoke to the people at Royal Flush Amusements. They say that Ultimate Powder Coating doesn't do any steel or chrome work, and they don't know anyone in the Baltimore/Washington area that does it. So my hunt continues...
