Got a very nice sander. Well thanks for the advice ill post when done
Quoted from Jjsmooth:I have a Festool sander. I use paint stripper.
Acetone or paint, on totan they say you can use s heatgun and razor
Heatgun really amplifies the stink. Softens the old decal. Burns your fingers. I'm just relaying what works for me, and that's stripper.
Its a mess, gotta do it twice, but no real easy way. Get the aerosol, spray it on, wait 5 or 6 minutes, scrape. Then, do it again. Then break out the sander.
Good luck.

I can confirm that it's a lot more work than you think to make it look great. I did just a cabinet head once and it took me days and days to get it right.
It turned out ok but my inexperience was really bothering me the entire time I was working on it. I was figuring it out as I went along. From now on I am leaving cabinet restorations to the professionals.
Maybe you can have the head ready and have someone that has done it many times before help you with finishing it and then you can finish the lower cabinet on your own time... just a thought.
You could probably complete the game's head with the right equipment and two people in a morning/afternoon.

Do you have a link?
Quoted from MotorCityMatt:What's up with the auction this weekend in Ohio, is it worth going to?
Is it the one near Toldeo? At whalenauction.com? I'm terrified of it. A facebook group posted it and it's in proximity of enough cities that I feel like those machines are going to go higher than retail. I was going to drive to it (4 hours) but I think I'll just await the results.
Pretty nice machines though.
Ya, im guessing prices will be pretty high at that one. There is another auction the same day in marion oh, have a ted nugent and a firepower, also a rifle game and a 16ft ball bowler. I wanted to go to that for the bowler and rifle game but cant due to work. If anyone does go and gets those, id be interested in buying.

Nothing will go cheap there. Remember, that it's 15 minutes from Dr. Scott's Pinball Store. Anything that looks like will go low, they will snap up for their store.

I should have a secret service for sale soon. Missing the power board, used one off another game and it boots, only player 3 and 4 are working on displays right now, several hacks and burnt coils i need to take care of, but the playfield looks great and it should clean up very well

Check the Fort Wayne Craigslist for a Robocop.
Quoted from Collin:Arcade Rescue 911 in Indianapolis had a Monday Night Football as of a few weeks ago, btw
That one is gone. Sold and gone on May 17th before they were even finished working on it, guy took it unfinished. No idea what the price was. I had been waiting for them to finish to see what the asking price was going to be.

And there's another one on the Northern WV Craigslist. It's in eastern Ohio near Wheeling. Longer drive, but a bit cheaper.
Might be looking to sell my Breakshot, Capcom. Very Nice.
PM if you're interested.
As always if it sells on pinside I will contribute!
Thank you
I am looking for a jump ramp for a Robocop, both pieces. If anybody has or knows where these can be found, please message me. Thanks!

Bos98Just finished fixing this one up.
Thanks for looking!
What LED do you have in the upper light? Thanks.
And nice job fixing that one up.

Oh, really? Do they have a story? I'd like to know, maybe via PM or a separate thread if it's inappropriate for this thread.
I'm miles away (in WV) so I don't know too many vendors.
Quoted from Geocab:What LED do you have in the upper light? Thanks.

All bulbs are comet 50/50 SMD frosted.
Reds blues and whites in the back box.
Greens and whites for GI
Matched colors for Inserts.
The mountain came with a little strip of white LEDs which is similar to a Comet Matrix 3 SMD strip.
The gauges are comet post lights
Curious as well. The auction in marion that had 2 pins just happened. I saw it online, ted nugent i think went for 1100ish, and i think firepower was around 900
Nugent went for 1300, Firepower for 700. No Premiums or Sales Tax.
Nugent would have cleaned up nicely, except for the 50cent size wear spot on top of the left pop bumper. But the glass and cabinet were nice. Firepower had really bad inserts, some where, cabinet flanking, flaking backglass and some other issues.
The 50s Superman Kiddie Ride and and Big Ball Bowler were the best deals. Pretty sure Superman would bring $5k with no work. Mecum had a restored one go for 30k.
Davideokills went to the Napoleon auction. He hasn't gotten back to me on what stuff went for or if he bought anything. Probably means he didn't and Dr Scott's went after most of it.

I hope he does update - I don't know if I want to feel better or worse about it.
