So I really don't have my finger on the pulse of LOTR. Is there different mfg dates preferred over others? Specific wear areas to look for? What's a lotr or LE in huo shape going for nowadays?
TIA
I would say for a nice HUO LOTR you are looking at least $5,500.
As for wear areas I would look at the Shire area. If the game doesn't have an Arwen plastic ball divertor the Shire area may be more beat up since the ball will drop there about 50% of the time after going through the "Path of the Dead". The Gollum multiball VUK is another spot to look for wear.
Also, make sure that there is no wear where the Balrog swings out in front of the middle ramp. The first LOTR (not HUO) I bought had a big gouge there as the Balrog toy had partially fallen off and was rubbing into the playfield...

Too much IMO, I hope a VE comes out.
Sold a documented huo yesterday for $5700, also very low play, speaker kit, speaker light kit, mirror blades, 2005 run. Not a L.E. Took 1-2 months to sell. They already covered wear areas. Good luck, get a nice one and u will be happy. I already miss it
Quoted from Skins:Thanks for the input. I was thinking the mid $5's so I'm in the ballpark.
I am sure Jints56 will sell you his once he has had it a while.

Just played it
Good friend just sold a huo beauty with tons of mods and cliffy protectors in all the right spots for 5300.
If I was closer I would grab this in a hearbeat. $4600 is a great price for a HUO.

I tried hard to pry it from his hands.
SSSSSSShhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiireeeeeeeeee.... BBbbbbbbaaaaaaagggiiiiinnnnssssssssss...
I've considered selling my Funhouse to fund this game, but I still haven't reach the point where I can justify spending that much on a machine. Not knocking anyone here who has the dough to do it, I would If I could. Who knows, maybe I'll get desperate enough to do it some day. Hoping Stern makes a vault edition of this so the other machines drop.

Here's a link to one that may have just sold
So, any nice machine in the upper $4000's sells fast, so buy it and one priced in the low to mid $5000's in very nice shape with mod's sells slower, so maybe wait for the price to lower a little or a VE. The VE, that may or may not be showing up, effects the market with buyers being hesitant and maybe more patient to buy and sellers may put their LOTR's on the market sooner than later knowing a VE would take a hit on the price of their pin. Got it!
I may be looking also and this would be my smart buyer perspective.
