Tired of lugging around my Weller station. Thinking of getting a butane for location repairs. All EM stuff, no board work. What do you all like/dislike?
Thanks,
Izzy

You can get a compact weller that will do the job. I'm always skittish of butane around games.
Weller sp40lk. Pick it up at Home Depot.
Which Portasol do you use? That's the direction I was leaning. There are several models. Didn't know if the Pro was overkill, but those old EM solder joints can be a bear.

I've used a Weller Portasol for years. The P2C is the basic model. Get the kit if you want all the attachments. I keep 2 of 'em in my kit just in case... one with the normal tip & one with a fine tip. The only problem I've had is they can be fussy to light if it's hot & humid.
One other thing... Be careful where & how you use it. They blow hot out the hole in the side of the tip & you can cook stuff next to where you're soldering!
