I'm currently thinking of a used one. It has mods, color dmd and Shaker motor. We're close on price just wondering what's fair. I don't want to be a lowballer, but don't want to over pay either.

Is it a LE or standard edition?

If it has the color display and shaker it really shouldn’t matter since they are the same game.

#4 6 years ago

If you say so.

#5 6 years ago

Other than the numbered plaque and colored trim is there any difference?

#6 6 years ago

Seem to b selling for 7500-8200 depending on mods and if its a le

No. Info is wrong. There are only 1000 MMRLE's that will be produced. Sold out in one hour. LE has color changing display on all animations . Standard just one color . The differences between the MMRLE and MMR are: MMRLE comes with a shaker motor and MMR does not, MMRLE comes with your choice of standard trim, black or gold(goldish) while the MMR will just be available with standard trim, MMRLE cabinet will have a thicker bottom panel in it than the MMR.
Comes with a numbered LE tag

Prices are holding pretty steady for an le. Maybe a few hundred off but that’s about it. With colour was 8200 new.

It's a standard edition.

$7400

Actually I think your info is wrong. LE did not come with color for MMR, it was a paid upgrade. The color upgrade looks exactly the same on the standard or the LE. The only difference is that LE owners paid $200 for color and others paid $400 for the upgrade.

To be more accurate, they were available for over a year.

They were claimed to be "sold out" but amazingly you could and still can easily buy LEs...

Sorry but 1000 is not limited at all.

All MMRs have the stronger plywood bottom according to Doug from CGC. This was initially going to be a difference between the LE and Standard but they changed their mind.

Quoted from CGC_DougS:

Let me take the mystery out of this one right away. EVERY MMR to date has been made with a plywood bottom. We have no plan on changing this on any models from CGC.

Same with the double clearcoat which initially was only going to be on the LE and not the Standard. But they are the same.

Quoted from PPS:

Just got off the plane, and taking some feedback and we've decided to include the Double Hard Coat on all LE and Std MMR's (existing and future orders). Thanks to all of for the feedback and we are working to deliver a really great rendition of the classic.
Also ... We will be working on an FAQ today to collect all of the questions and make available by tomorrow.
thanks for the support.

As mentioned by Kermit24 a few posts back neither model came with the full color display. That was an upgrade chip that had to be purchased seperately, although the LE owners received a $200 discount. Shaker is included on LE and is extra for the Standard but the OP says his game has both of these upgrades so at this point there is no difference.

Question to the OP. Was your Standard built by GCG? If it was then it apparently has the upgraded melamine covered cabinet that they are also using for AFMr:

“The game's cabinetry has been greatly improved. Both the cabinet and backbox are manufactured with melamine clad plywood. Melamine is 10 times more scratch resistant than traditional lacquer finishes.”

This is an upgrade that CGC hasn’t touted, but it seems to be true based on forum posts.

Quoted from Only_Pinball:

I have MMR #1645 that was built by CGC and it also has a melamine cab
JMR

Both the LE and Standard were also sold at the same price from distributors - $7995.

I agree with Kermit24. $7400 would be a good price with all the extras.

MMR LE gets you a cheaper color upgrade but they both come with the same screen and it works the same way.

You did get armor color choice but that's pretty irrelevant on the secondary market unless you just gotta have black or gold and don't want to change the armor yourself.

I heard SEs ended up with the thicker PF hardcoat and cabinet enhancements that were originally supposed to be LE only too, and that newer games have an even better cab again! I know someone mentioned the painted bottom on mine so maybe that's LE only?

LE did get you a shaker motor, that's pretty cool. AND a number.

Basically, if you count the colored armor and legs (on some games) plus the shaker and the $200 discount on color, you probably got about $600 in goodies with an LE.
