Ok, we all know you ain’t getting a JD, but what can you get? If you had $1,400 for a pinball related purchase, how would you spend it in this market?

I know we take the marketplace listings with a lot of salt, but they suggest with a pin you’d have a choice between some well known and cared for EMs, or an old SS that could be parted out. What’s your $1,400 grail?

Maybe it’s better spent on a reproduction PF and BG for your next project?

Or do you go with the glitzy topper for your new Stern?

Was looking seriously at a Time Zone AND Card Whiz for less than that in partial trade for my flash Gordon.

$1400 will get you a working early Solid State 3 hours before closing at a pinball show.

Or if you have a multimorphic you can buy a couple of nice new games.

This if I have to get it today.

Ugly, but one of the earliest games I consider good that's not an EM.

At the last Winston Salem NC Auction:

    1200 F14 Tomcat (problems)
    1200 Secret Service (players grade)
1100 Penant Fever Pitch & Bat

The other twenty pinballs sold for more than $1400 each.

And all three of these had problems...

Nowadays people probably want that much for a project that doesn’t work.

    Time Warp comes to mind.

Laser Cue or Flash. Both great games. Both can still be found around this price.

Yup. Sold my fully working one with a half decent PF, and a few minor upgrades last month for $1600 in the northeast. Arguably the best bang for the buck at that time. When I dropped the price to $1600 my inbox was flooded. But one a few steps down would be ~$1400.

    Can we include projects?

Comet, Space Shuttle, Firepower, other sys 6/7 Williams and early Bally SS games.

Such an underrated game. I find the layout amazing with the varied shots. I like it better than even HS, which I’m lookin for.

A 1400 pinbot would be a wreck. I would LOVE to get my hands on a really nice pinbot for 1400.

    Interflip Dragon.

Might be tough find at that price, but all I've got to say about that is "BAO"!
