Here’s a tool box that I use. I store tools in the top tray, and fuses, coils, sleeves, door locks, etc. in the four pull out containers. I bring it with me when I buy a game. Keep a new coin door lock in this toolbox so if you buy a game without a coin door lock or have to drill it, you can install a new one in two minutes and you don’t have to listen to the door flap open and close on the ride home.

The 1000lb. hydraulic table cart. That thing comes in handy for getting pins down from a tailgate, putting legs on/taking them off, or shuttling pins around the gameroom. This is one of my favorite things from HF. Not to be confused with the cheap 4in-1 screwdriver they sell; this one is super nice and never goes on sale. I use a 20% coupon on them from time to time. The goal is to have one for every drawer in my house and both of my cars. For pinball they have both types of screwdriver along with a 1/4" and 5/16" nut driver.

Also, magnetic pickup tool, nut/screw/washer kits, e-clip assortment, Super Lube, mechanics gloves, nitrile gloves and on and on.

The cheap 4 in 1 screwdriver is actually the perfect tool for removing playfield posts. When you remove the bit it's hollow and the same size as the hex on the posts.

Another vote for the hydraulic lift cart. It comes in handy for lots of moving stuuf.

Sorry a 6in1 is something I can't skimp on!

The lift table or large tumbler with coarse walnut media would be top pics. Smaller stuff would be the LED forehead light or a high wattage soldering gun to heat up locktite posts.

Just curious, how and why did Harbor Freight become the go-to pinball tool place? Had never been in to one until I got on Pinside. Quality of items there varies, but I have bought things like blankets from there.

Because they are cheap. Personally I think their quality on a lot of things sucks. Tumblers and the lifts are decent, but I'm not a fan of their tools, straps, etc.

As for the rest it's very hit & miss in terms of quality & durability. I've got a bench grinder and drill press that are over 10 years old from them and still work, and other things lasted 2 uses before breaking.....

I'd suggest avoiding power tools or any hand tools that require significant force to be applied. There are too many issues with quality of Harbor Freight tools. Stick to the good name brands for those items. Harbor Freight is good for moving blankets, magnetic trays, cleaning materials, etc.

Don't want to derail the thread topic, but since you asked.

The rubber ring rests against a metal arm that is sticking up out of the playfield. The arm is probably too tight against the rubber, causing the slingshot to fire several times instead of once. Try adjusting the arm away from the rubber ring slightly. See if that fixes the problem.

Ring too tight could also be the cause

Pinball lift!!, they have a 500lb and 1000lb capacity lifts and my back never stops thanking me (I got the 1000 lb one as it looked very sturdy and has worked great since I got it). Also, they have a great selection of spare springs (variety pack style) that come in handy for drop target mechs and the like.

My thing with harbor Freight tools is, if I need a specialized tool to do a job, that I am going to use maybe a couple of times, I go there. if I need that tool to do my job, I buy better.

Turn the game off. Remove the plastic over the sling shot kicker and leaf blade switches. Pull on the rubber ring around the posts, so you have equal pressure on all sides, not tight on the kicker/leaf blade switch side. The leaf blade switches - front long one should be resting on the rubber ring, not pushing it or away from it. Shorter rear one should be close enough so the slightest ball hit triggers it, yet vibration doesn't. There are two leaf blade switches, one each side of the kicker. At least one needs a little adjusting. When bending forward or backward, get as close to the fiberboard spacers as you can.

Table pump lift ,I got one from there just had too made up a big angle wood on the table so now it can pick up my pinball machines too move them around

It's even better as one end is 1/4" for the post screws and the other end is 5/16" for the post cap nuts. both also used multiple times other places on the machine. I have a couple lying around that I don't even know where the bits for them are.

the lift table is pretty awesome as well.

Thanks for posting. Looks like the hub broke out of the rim. A periodic inspection of those welds will be on my "to do" list. I sold my blue HF unit a while back, but now have a Northern tool one that is similar, but has a longer frame. Pretty sure the same wheels though.

I'm a snap on buyer, but pins are away from shop. 1/4 socket set in their case works great and better quality than I expected. Wouldnt try to m make a living using these tools but pretty decent actually. For light work
