Will finally be getting out of Alabama late December but unfortunately can't go straight back to Denver cause I have a 5 month TDY (temporary duty) in Albuquerque....My pins are either going in storage for 5 months or need to get sold. Used to have a house they could go in Denver til I caught my wife in bed with a surgeon.....Bummer huh....

Anyways since I got no place in Denver and I'll be in essentially a hotel room in ABQ, storage or sell and re-aquire at a later date? Another problem is I can't pick the moving company nor will I be around when my stuff gets thrown (literally most likely) in storage, so I can only imagine the damage my machines will suffer....

    #2 8 years ago

    I'll buy all three.

    #3 8 years ago

Ohh man I don't even know what to say to that. I would probably opt for the storage idea if it is affordable to you. Sorry to hear about this hope things get better for ya real soon Waldo!

sorry if i came off as too opportunistic but i want hs2 & wh20 and i know a gorilla that would like the tz

I'm sure there are a couple people on here trustworthy enough for a lend/rent. Any in AL or nearby?

Problem is then I have to retrieve them from Alabama

My Wh2o will be the last to go....Love this game and it's pretty mint...

In your case sell. No stable game room, pending divorce? and moving around the country your better off traveling light until you get your game room in order. No matter where in the world you are your a Pinsider and you have us and you can play in the wild and reacquire pins later...

Alright! You've twisted my arm. Ship them to me and I'll Rent to own! I'm kinda broke at the moment but I'll give ya my in laws as collateral.

    #10 8 years ago

Shouldn't have you gotten the house if you caught her in bed with someone else? Sounds like your attorney wasn't too good.

What about friends or family? I'm sure someone would hold onto your pins until you are situated.

    #11 8 years ago

I didn't read the divorced part or i wouldn't have been so coldhearted as to say i'd buy them that quickly. I still will, though!

You totally had a deal right up til that last part....Getting rid of the in laws I got already...

I was paying for the house (rental) til the hidden camera caught the amateur porno and now I no longer am paying for said rental...No lawyer, but she pretty much got nothing except what was hers before we married which was most of the furniture since my went on the curb...

Family is in WI, none of my friends have that kind of room in their places. Don't have any pin friends as I'm only six months into this hobby...My life sounds like a dang country music song...

Sorry to hear of your plight. If you can find a way to keep some or all of them I would as it is getting harder to find good games.
    Good luck

That's what scares me...Especially when it comes to a nice Wh2o. I see how hard it is from all the other threads. I got so lucky on mine....

    #16 8 years ago

The offer stands for me to hold onto them for as long as it takes to get back on your feet.

I guess you don't have to take the mother in law.

Dave is probably a better bet, as it sounds like he has $$$$.

    #17 8 years ago

I don't have space in my place, but my friends have a gigantic condo. They're in Nashville if you're interested.

    #18 8 years ago

I would try to find storage for them, unless you needed the money. Hell I'll store 1 or 2, pending on how long you think you need. Well as long as I can play them....

    #19 8 years ago

Wisconsin is full of nice people. I'm sure one of your cousins would drive down and back with them if you paid for a uhaul, gas, food, etc.

I'm not rich but i have money for the games.

In all honesty, i'm rooting for you to keep the games if that's what you want to do. They will be very hard to replace especially after looking at that wh20.

    #21 8 years ago

Also, Denver is a huge pinball community (at least compared to Dothan, AL). I'm sure somebody there could help.

    #22 8 years ago

I wouldn't sell them, well maybe the HSII. But a nice TZ and and really nice WH2O are getting harder to find.

Is there any way you have the time to rent a truck and move them up into a climate controlled storage somewhere closer to where you think you might end up?

    #23 8 years ago

One pin will fit in my XC90, so I might be bringing that Wh2o with me. Who knows maybe it will fit in my room or a pinsider in ABQ....But I also have a WOZ on order....

    Quoted from Waldo:

Sounds like a good move, especially if you have a WOZ on order. That way you have your favourite and even if you decide to sell the others you can have the fun of a fresh start and look for something else.

    #25 8 years ago

    Figure in your real costs.

Moving the games by a real coin op company with insurance $120-150 (local), storing the games in climate controlled storage $109 a month.

If you think you will really only need 5 months of storage, then it will cost you $700.

Could you buy the same games back for +/- $700 difference over the sale price? Probably.

    #26 8 years ago

If your going to keep 1 ship it to a Pinsider in Denver so retrieving it will be easier...Just a thought, good luck with what you decide to do.

    #27 8 years ago

I think you should try to retain ownership of them if they're all as nice as the Whitewater looks. I used to have a classic Trans Am, kept it at a climate controlled car storage depot - during the summer when business was quieter the owner used to top up the bays by renting the space as plain storage by the lot - one time I saw a pile of vintage penny operated amusement machines in one. Something to consider - what you don't want is to throw them in a cold and clammy garage.

    #28 8 years ago

I put pics up of the other two in the price check x 2 thread....

I actually can't control what kind of storage the gov't decides to use. So I highly doubt they would go in a climate controlled storage area when they get to denver.

    #30 8 years ago

If your final destination was Wisconsin, I'd be more than willing to hang onto them for you for a few months. But since you're heading to Denver in the end I'm hoping somebody you trust out in that part of the country can come through for you. At the very least you should hang onto that WH20 since you like it so much.

    #31 8 years ago

Don't store them without climate control.

Parts will rust, the playfield will develop hairline cracks and some display devices can out gas.

Sell 'em or place them in the care of some Pinsiders...

Yep. You have 3? Can you get them to Loveland? I can *maybe* store them. I'm going to be doing some work on my basement, trying to think about this...if I can get them in an out of the way place.

    #33 8 years ago

Part of my basement is finished, if they were all wrapped on end I could put them in my office.

I think this is probably the best advice. Even when I'm done in ABQ, I'm still homeless. Might move back to Denver, might be Salt Lake City. Needs to be close to a major airport, and mountains cause snowmobiling is my other addiction (already had to sell the sled and the truck and the sled deck). I'll probably keep the Wh2o with me (The Air Force will pay me for moving it myself). Love to keep the TZ but the Volvo can only fit one. Once I get a house with a kickass huge basement for a gameroom then maybe I can re-start my collection...

Thanks for all the inputs - it's been helpful and uplifting to see all comments!!
