I say this because I need to get new ones for my Game Plan Old Coney Island!, but I want to troubleshoot the game while I wait to get around to purchasing new switches (to save on shipping, I look to do my parts purchases in tranches) I would only be actuating the flipper for a second or so a few times.

You will blow a fuse in the best case. Worst case your coil will burn up.

As long as you only flip very slightly it'll work, but I don't get why you'd bother. Are the old eos not working?

The ones that were in are in very bad shape, and I've already removed them. I think I have some other ones that are not in too bad of shape I could temporarily install.

putting a jumper across the EOS is a good way of seeing if the EOS needs to be replaced. The concern is someone else firing up the machine to play and damaging the machine.

For troubleshooting only this will be fine. Next time don't remove them just use a jumper wire

OK, it seems that I had already gotten the proper part (which is I why I had destroyed the originals) - which isn't Bally, but rather Williams - so this whole thread was an academic exercise.
