    Quoted from Mocean:

The P3 meets a lot of these requirements.

I agree. I think if anyone can get pinball back into D&B, it is the P3. Likely when they have a future licensed title that is really appealing.

Let's pretend there is a Minions P3 title... and let's pretend it also spat out tickets.

    That is a home run.

    Quoted from vid1900:

They make the chip prices odd numbers to further remove you from the money leaving your wallet.

They are very clever with this. You really have no idea how much anything costs, and it all costs significantly more than a coin drop somewhere else, but no one can figure it out!

    Quoted from ifpapinball:

I think today's pinball (even when working perfectly) is far too intimidating for casual players to want to try.

There is something to this. People will visit my house, I'll show them my games, they'll be all impressed, but then not even want to try and play. I regularly see the intimidation.

How that can be addressed with mechanical pinball, I'm not too sure. Unlike with your vids, there is no easy newbie level.

    Quoted from ifpapinball:

Having a 3 year old that enjoys playing at home, he's a great person to observe to see if he's being entertained and what's entertaining him.

Sometimes it's the little things that can make a difference with respect to ENTERTAINMENT.

Likely why Medieval Madness has been a great reported earner on location for 20 years. A simple/great toy and concept. Keep attacking that castle. Other missed shots do cool things.

There have been dozens of new games released since then, and that one still towers over them, so obviously not something easily recreated.

    Quoted from Jared:

The reason I personally think it would be a win to have machines in every D&B is because such a reality would be indicative of a true pinball renaissance

oh, it would be huge for pinball to have them at the locations, no question. But you've heard the known issues, and they are pretty tough to get over.

On the JJP pindemption thread, I had suggested to Keefer to drop pushing the start button for pindemption players. I even went so far to suggest maybe an immediate ball plunge as soon as a token is put in. That is how basic you've got to get and how most redemption games work. Drop a coin, something happens, tickets come out. The end.

A "simple" pinball still wouldn't address the maintenance and upkeep issues that are unique to pinball versus vids.

Maybe the answer is "It'll never happen" and that is OK. D&B also doesn't have darts. Or laser tag.

Maybe its all about working the niche that pinball CAN work in, promoting it and educating people, and not making it something it isn't.

I wonder if Stern offered to provide tech visits to make it happen.
