    Quoted from jk2171:

I do some marketing work for local Chicago area D&B locations, and have asked the main GM about this very issue. It's simple...corporate D&B in Texas thinks they take up too much floor space, require too much maintenance, and don't hit their target demographic. I've even offered to have them let us do a league in one of the rooms there, to see how many pin people would come regularly to D&B with games on location. No dice. Don't think it will ever happen.

Pinball does not meet DB's demographic is the bottom line. The ops question is then how does pinball meet DB's demographic? I think part of this was answered by Post 63 and 72. You can't have pinball fill all demographics at once. If you made pinball to fit the DB's demo then it would not fit the Pinside demo. It would be 2 totally different machines.

    Quoted from indybru:

Sorry D & B is a non factor, went years ago I think played Twister when it was somewhat new. No chance of going anymore we have barcades in the Chicago area, I don't get there often but they are multiple times better than D & B which is 20 minutes from the office.
A place opened up by Sears in Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg I checked it out it has 5 pins one being Addams Family, also the gameworks across the street they have 5 pins and really not worth going. (one IM which I have ,also I think 24 and Suprano's.)

Pinside collectors usually do not seek out route pinball unless its a league or tourney. Generally we play at our houses or buddies.
