Quoted from Aurich:I feel like we're a little oversaturated with band pins honestly. Everyone has their own taste, I wouldn't buy Foo Fighters, Elton John, Ozzy, or Van Halen, but there's always someone who's excited about one of those ideas.
But the concept just feels overdone now, there have been too many in too short a time period and they're all feeling a little samey. ACDC and Metallica both felt fresh at the time I feel. ACDC had a really unique rule set around the song modes, and Metallica was an amazing injection of hand drawn art instead of asset collage and what felt like a really original theme. It was a bit of a game changing game for Stern imo. Inline drops were back! You could almost say there are pre and post Metallica Stern games. Who knows if we'd even have Zombie Yeti if the response to Dirty Donny hadn't been so strong.
Since then though it's felt like it's been a bit more of a formula going on. And there have been so many. Off the top of my head:
Aerosmith
Kiss
Primus
Iron Maiden
Led Zeppelin
Rush
Rob Zombie
Alice Cooper
Queen
Am I missing any? I feel like I just posted a classic rock radio station playlist.

I wish there could be more original theme games like so many classics that require creativity and theme design, not based on movies, TV shows or bands. There are so many to name, but just for example Funhouse, Fishtales, Whirlwind, pinobot, etc...just random and original games.

People relate immediately to theme that is known such as movies or bands, but I think we could really use an all original well thought out theme that is just fun.
